Death

Al-Mukhtar al-Thaqafi hunted down the murderers of Imam al-Husayn (a) in late 66/686. Sa'r al-Hanafi gave a report to al-Mukhtar, and he commissioned 'Abd Allah b. Kamil to find him. Ibn Kamil arrested 'Abd al-Rahman b. Abi Khushkara, Ziyad b. Malik al-Dab'i, 'Imran b. Khalid al-'Athri, and 'Abd Allah b. Qays al-Khawlani, and took them to al-Mukhtar. They were taken to bazar and decapitated at the command of al-Mukhtar.
