Bajdal b. Sulaym al-Kalbī (Arabic: بَجدَل بن سُلَيم الكلبي) was a member of 'Umar b. Sa'd's army during the Battle of Karbala, who cut Imam al-Husayn's (a) finger to steal his ring. He was captured in the Uprising of Mukhtar, and by order of Mukhtar, first, his fingers and then his feet were cut and writhed in his blood until he died. This is mentioned in contemporary sources, but there is no mention of his presence in the Battle of Karbala in earlier historical references.[1]
