The Muhammadi Trust of Great Britain & Northern Ireland, established in 1390/1970-1, is a charitable organization with its center in Great Britain devoted to the dissemination of authentic knowledge concerning Islam. Through publications, seminars, conferences and other mediums, this organization tries to contribute in making possible deeper studies of Islam.[1]

History

The Muhammadi Trust has been in existence for more than four decades. The name of this organization was going to be "Ahlebayt Academy", but to cover a wider audience it was changed to "Muhammadi Trust".[2]

According to the official website of the organization, the primary intention behind forming the Trust was to enhance awareness of Islam in the West by making available in English some of the most essential classical texts of the Islamic tradition, with a particular emphasis upon the dimension of Islamic thought and spirituality arising from the school of Ahl al-Bayt (a), the purified Progeny of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (s).

In the early eighties, the Muhammadi Trust organized and presented a memorable weeklong international conference, in which religious and academic scholars from all over the globe participated to celebrate the 1400th birth anniversary of Imam al-Husayn (a). Subsequent to this unforgettable conference, a special issue of the Al Serat Journal was published, entitled "Imam al-Husayn Conference".[3]
