Previously in Iran, governmental institutions were closed for the Eid al-Fitr only for one day (the day of Eid al-Fitr), but since 2011, after approval of the parliament and the Guardian Council, the holidays of Eid al-Fitr were increased to two days (the day of Eid al-Fitr and the day after it).
