List of the Children of Imam al-Kazim (a)

The list of the Children of Imam al-Kazim (a) is the names of sons and daughters of Musa b. Ja'far (a), the seventh Imam of Shiites.

According to al-Shaykh al-Mufid, in al-Irshad, Imam al-Kazim (a) had thirty seven children (eighteen sons and nineteen daughters).[1] Sibt b. al-Jawzi, a Sunni scholar, in Tadhkirat al-khawas mentioned forty children (twenty sons and twenty daughters) for him.[2] Also, Ibn Sufi author of al-Majdi fi ansab al-talibiyyin, said that Imam (a) had thirty seven daughters and twenty two sons.[3] Ibn Hazm Andalusi, one of the Sunni genealogists (d. 456/1064), mentioned thirteen sons of Imam Kazim (a) who had children and added that the Imam (a) had other sons who did not have children or offspring.[4]

Imam al-Kazim's (a) most famous son is Imam al-Rida (a), the eighth Imam of Shiites and his most famous daughter is Fatima al-Ma'suma (a).
