# [[Hashim b. 'Utba b. Abi Waqqas]]; titled as Hāshim al-Mirqāl (Arabic:{{ia| هاشِم المِرقال}}) was a companion of Prophet Muhammad (s) and 'Ali b. Abi Talib (a). He was martyred in the Battle of Siffin in 37/657. Hashim b. 'Utba converted to Islam in the time of the conquest of Mecca.  

# [[Abu Sufyan]]; When the Noble Prophet (s) started his invitation to Islam, Abu Sufyan turned in to one of the most obstinate enemies of the Prophet (s). He had an active role against the Prophet (s) in the Battles of Badr, Uhud and Khandaq but embraced Islam in 8/629, and was appointed as the governor of Najran by the Noble Prophet (s).

# [[Mu'awiya b. Abi Sufyan|Mu'awiya]]; the first [[Umayyad]] caliph who ruled in [[Damascus]] after the [[Peace Treaty of Imam al-Hasan (a)]]. In the conquering of Mecca, he became Muslim and he was among [[Tulaqa']]. He attended the conquering of Syria at the time of Abu Bakr. At the time of 'Umar b. al-Khattab, Mu'awiya was the governor of Jordan and he then became the governor of all [[Syria]].  At the time of Imam Ali's (a) caliphate, on the pretext of taking revenge for 'Uthman, he waged the Battle of Siffin.  

# [[Kharija b. Hudhafa]]; Kharija played an influential role in the conquest of Egypt after Islam, and was [['Amr b. 'As]]'s successor in [[Egypt]] for a while. In a conspiracy for the assassination of 'Amr b. 'As, Kharija was killed instead.

# [[Al-Khirrit b. Rashid al-Naji]]; one of the Sahaba and [[Khawarij]]. He played an effective role in the [[Battles of Ridda]] (or apostasy) in the period of Abu Bakr b. Abi Quhafa's caliphate. And in the period of 'Uthman b. 'Affan, he was appointed as the ruler of an area in Fars. In the Battle of Jamal, he took the side of Talha b. 'Ubayd Allah and al-Zubayr b. al-'Awwam. After the Battle of Siffin, Khirrit led oppositions and revolts against Imam 'Ali (a) and converted to Christianity. He was finally killed after several confrontations with Imam 'Ali's (a) envoy.

# [[Jarud b. Mu'alla]];  

# [[Al-Mughira b. al-Harith b. 'Abd al-Muttalib]]; a poet in early Islam. After Bi'tha of the Prophet (s), al-Mughira became a bitter enemy of the Prophet (s) and supported the polytheists who fought against him. However after the conquest of Mecca by the Prophet (s) he converted to Islam.

# [[Abu Mahdhura]]; a companion of the Prophet (s) and [[mu'adhdhin]] of Mecca. Abu Mahdhura's narrations in regard with [[adhan]] and iqama is an important basis for the their rulings.

# [[Jarir b. 'Abd Allah al-Bajali]]
