On May 19, 2024, he traveled to East Azerbaijan with [[Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi]], the President of Iran, to inaugurate a construction project. Unfortunately, the helicopter carrying them had an accident on the way back. So far, there is no information about the condition of the helicopter passengers.
