Sura al-Shams: Difference between revisions

According to dominant view, this sura has 15 verses, but some Quran reciters believe that it has 16 verses. furthermore It has 54 words and 253 letters. Likewise, it is 91th sura, in the book's order, and 26th sura, in the revelation order. It is a meccan sura and, in terms of volume, it is one of Mufassalat (the detailed suras) of the holy book and one of the set Awsat (intermediates). Moreover, it is 18th sura of sward suras of the book which would begin with swearing; we see 11 swearing in the first verses of this sura. Reading of this sura is recommended (Mustahabb) in Eid al-Fitr peray.
