With the usage of this phrase in his speeches, Imam Khomeini did not mean necessity of crying over the hardships of Imam al-Husayn (a); but he deemed that this phrase implies the constant battle with oppression, although he has interpreted it differently. Mutahhari believed that every uprising against injustice in the world is a result of the uprising of Imam al-Husayn (a) and the above-mentioned phrase refers to this point. Ayatullah Khamene’i interprets this phrase that “in every period, people have duties that if they fulfill them well and on time, everything will become alright, nations will promote and humanity will develop.”
