Text:Supplication of Abu Hamza

In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.	بِسْمِ اللَّـهِ الرَّ‌حْمَـٰنِ الرَّ‌حِيمِ
O Allah, do not discipline me by means of Your punishment and do not subject me to Your planned strategy. How can I attain welfare, O Lord, while it is not found elsewhere save with You? How can I find redemption while it cannot be attained save through You? Neither he who has done righteous deeds can dispense with Your aid and mercy nor can he who did evildoings, dare to challenge you, and did not arrive at Your pleasure find an exit out of Your power.	إِلَهِي لا تُؤَدِّبْنِي بِعُقُوبَتِكَ وَ لا تَمْكُرْ بِي فِي حِيلَتِكَ مِنْ أَيْنَ لِيَ الْخَيْرُ يَا رَبِّ وَ لا يُوجَدُ إِلّا مِنْ عِنْدِكَ وَ مِنْ أَيْنَ لِيَ النَّجَاةُ وَ لا تُسْتَطَاعُ إِلّا بِكَ لا الَّذِي أَحْسَنَ اسْتَغْنَى عَنْ عَوْنِكَ وَ رَحْمَتِكَ وَ لا الَّذِي أَسَاءَ وَ اجْتَرَأَ عَلَيْكَ وَ لَمْ يُرْضِكَ خَرَجَ عَنْ قُدْرَتِكَ
[Repeat this phrase as many times as possible in one breath:] O Lord, O Lord, O Lord...	يَا رَبِّ يَا رَبِّ يَا رَبِّ
I knew of You by You and You directed me to You and called me to You and without You I would not have known what You are. All Praise is for Allah whom I call upon with my needs then He answers me even though I was slow when He calls upon me All Praise is for Allah whom I supplicate and He grants me (what I plead for) even though I was stingy when He sought a loan from me. All Praise is for Allah whom I call upon with my needs whenever I wish and I entrust Him with my secrets without an intercessor and He grants me my wishes All Praise is for Allah whom I do not plead to anyone but Him for if I pleaded to others, they would not grant me	بِكَ عَرَفْتُكَ وَ أَنْتَ دَلَلْتَنِي عَلَيْكَ وَ دَعَوْتَنِي إِلَيْكَ وَ لَوْ لا أَنْتَ لَمْ أَدْرِ مَا أَنْتَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَدْعُوهُ فَيُجِيبُنِي وَ إِنْ كُنْتُ بَطِيئاً حِينَ يَدْعُونِي وَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَسْأَلُهُ فَيُعْطِينِي وَ إِنْ كُنْتُ بَخِيلاً حِينَ يَسْتَقْرِضُنِي وَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أُنَادِيهِ كُلَّمَا شِئْتُ لِحَاجَتِي وَ أَخْلُو بِهِ حَيْثُ شِئْتُ لِسِرِّي بِغَيْرِ شَفِيعٍ فَيَقْضِي لِي حَاجَتِي وَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي لا أَدْعُو غَيْرَهُ وَ لَوْ دَعَوْتُ غَيْرَهُ لَمْ يَسْتَجِبْ لِي دُعَائِي
All Praise is for Allah who dignified me by becoming the Disposer of my affairs instead of making me rely on others who then would humiliate me All Praise is for Allah who endeared me even though He is not in need of me All Praise is for Allah who treats me with clemency just as if I have no sin So my Lord is the most praised by me of all and most worthy of my praise	وَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي لا أَرْجُو غَيْرَهُ وَ لَوْ رَجَوْتُ غَيْرَهُ لَأَخْلَفَ رَجَائِي وَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي وَكَلَنِي إِلَيْهِ فَأَكْرَمَنِي وَ لَمْ يَكِلْنِي إِلَى النَّاسِ فَيُهِينُونِي وَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي تَحَبَّبَ إِلَيَّ وَ هُوَ غَنِيٌّ عَنِّي وَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي يَحْلُمُ عَنِّي حَتَّى كَأَنِّي لا ذَنْبَ لِي فَرَبِّي أَحْمَدُ شَيْ ءٍ عِنْدِي وَ أَحَقُّ بِحَمْدِي.
O' Allah! I find the roads of wishes to You wide open And the rivers of hope to You vast and running And counting on Your bountifulness (in times of need) for those who wished You freely accessible And the gates of prayer to those who are disparate, wide ajar And I know that You are for those who ask You in the position of answer And for those who are distressed, You are in a posture of rescue And in disparately seeking Your generosity and being content with Your judgment I find it compensating from the rejection of the misers and more satisfying than the handouts of the selfish And truly traveling to You is short in duration and You do not veil Yourself from Your creatures unless their own misdeeds would block them from You.	اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَجِدُ سُبُلَ الْمَطَالِبِ إِلَيْكَ مُشْرَعَةً وَ مَنَاهِلَ الرَّجَاءِ إِلَيْكَ [لَدَيْكَ ] مُتْرَعَةً وَ الاسْتِعَانَةَ بِفَضْلِكَ لِمَنْ أَمَّلَكَ مُبَاحَةً وَ أَبْوَابَ الدُّعَاءِ إِلَيْكَ لِلصَّارِخِينَ مَفْتُوحَةً وَ أَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ لِلرَّاجِي [لِلرَّاجِينَ ] بِمَوْضِعِ إِجَابَةٍ وَ لِلْمَلْهُوفِينَ [لِلْمَلْهُوفِ ] بِمَرْصَدِ إِغَاثَةٍ وَ أَنَّ فِي اللَّهْفِ إِلَى جُودِكَ وَ الرِّضَا بِقَضَائِكَ عِوَضاً مِنْ مَنْعِ الْبَاخِلِينَ وَ مَنْدُوحَةً عَمَّا فِي أَيْدِي الْمُسْتَأْثِرِينَ وَ أَنَّ الرَّاحِلَ إِلَيْكَ قَرِيبُ الْمَسَافَةِ وَ أَنَّكَ لا تَحْتَجِبُ عَنْ خَلْقِكَ إِلّا أَنْ تَحْجُبَهُمُ الْأَعْمَالُ [الْآمَالُ ] دُونَكَ ،
And I have sought You for my wish and directed my need to You and I depend on You for my rescue and I assign my pleading to You by praying to You doing this while knowing that I am not worthy of Your listening to me nor do I have a right on You to pardon me but I do so because I trust in Your generosity and I submit to Your true promise (to answer our prayers) and I take refuge through believing in Your unity and through my certainty of knowledge about You that indeed I have no other god or lord but You only You; there is no partner for You	وَ قَدْ قَصَدْتُ إِلَيْكَ بِطَلِبَتِي وَ تَوَجَّهْتُ إِلَيْكَ بِحَاجَتِي وَ جَعَلْتُ بِكَ اسْتِغَاثَتِي وَ بِدُعَائِكَ تَوَسُّلِي مِنْ غَيْرِ اسْتِحْقَاقٍ لاسْتِمَاعِكَ مِنِّي وَ لا اسْتِيجَابٍ لِعَفْوِكَ عَنِّي بَلْ لِثِقَتِي بِكَرَمِكَ وَ سُكُونِي إِلَى صِدْقِ وَعْدِكَ وَ لَجَئِي إِلَى الْإِيمَانِ بِتَوْحِيدِكَ وَ يَقِينِي [وَ ثِقَتِي ] بِمَعْرِفَتِكَ مِنِّي أَنْ لا رَبَّ لِي غَيْرُكَ وَ لا إِلَهَ [لِي ] إِلّا أَنْتَ وَحْدَكَ لا شَرِيكَ لَكَ
O' my Lord! You did say and all of what You say is true and what You promise is unconditional that " O' (believers) ask Allah of His bounty for Allah is Merciful towards you.” And it is not from Your features, O' my Master to order me to ask and prevent the answer and You are the Grantor of all bounties on all residents of Your kingdom and the Giver of Your consoling tenderness	اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ الْقَائِلُ وَ قَوْلُكَ حَقٌّ وَ وَعْدُكَ صِدْقٌ [الصِّدْقُ ] وَ اسْأَلُوا اللَّهَ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ بِكُمْ رَحِيماً وَ لَيْسَ مِنْ صِفَاتِكَ يَا سَيِّدِي أَنْ تَأْمُرَ بِالسُّؤَالِ وَ تَمْنَعَ الْعَطِيَّةَ وَ أَنْتَ الْمَنَّانُ بِالْعَطِيَّاتِ عَلَى أَهْلِ مَمْلَكَتِكَ وَ الْعَائِدُ عَلَيْهِمْ بِتَحَنُّنِ رَأْفَتِكَ [بِحُسْنِ نِعْمَتِكَ ]
O' my Lord! You have brought me up in Your gifts, and bounties since I was youthful and elevated my designation as I grew older So, O' the One who brought me up in this life with His benevolence, bountifulness and blessings and indicated to me His forgiveness and generosity in the hereafter My knowledge, O' my Master, is that which guides me to You and my love is my intercessor to You and I am trusting of my evidence with Your guidance and comfortable of my intercessor with Your intercession I pray to You, O' my master, with a tongue that has been paralyzed by its sin O' my Lord, I confide to You with a heart that has been doomed by its mischief I pray to You, O' my Lord, frightened but wishful hopeful but fearful If I contemplate my sins, O' my Lord, I become scared but when I remember Your generosity I yearn	إِلَهِي رَبَّيْتَنِي فِي نِعَمِكَ وَ إِحْسَانِكَ صَغِيراً وَ نَوَّهْتَ بِاسْمِي كَبِيراً فَيَا مَنْ رَبَّانِي فِي الدُّنْيَا بِإِحْسَانِهِ وَ تَفَضُّلِهِ [بِفَضْلِهِ ] وَ نِعَمِهِ وَ أَشَارَ لِي فِي الْآخِرَةِ إِلَى عَفْوِهِ وَ كَرَمِهِ مَعْرِفَتِي يَا مَوْلايَ دَلِيلِي [دَلَّتْنِي ] عَلَيْكَ وَ حُبِّي لَكَ شَفِيعِي إِلَيْكَ وَ أَنَا وَاثِقٌ مِنْ دَلِيلِي بِدَلالَتِكَ وَ سَاكِنٌ مِنْ شَفِيعِي إِلَى شَفَاعَتِكَ أَدْعُوكَ يَا سَيِّدِي بِلِسَانٍ قَدْ أَخْرَسَهُ ذَنْبُهُ رَبِّ أُنَاجِيكَ بِقَلْبٍ قَدْ أَوْبَقَهُ جُرْمُهُ أَدْعُوكَ يَا رَبِّ رَاهِباً رَاغِباً رَاجِياً خَائِفاً إِذَا رَأَيْتُ مَوْلايَ ذُنُوبِي فَزِعْتُ وَ إِذَا رَأَيْتُ كَرَمَكَ طَمِعْتُ
So, if You forgive, You are the most merciful and if You punish, You have not unjustly judged My excuse, O' Allah in my daring to ask You even though I have committed what You hate is Your benevolence and generosity and my preparation for my adversity given that I lack shyness (in committing sin), is Your forbearance and mercy And I am wishful that my hope will not be disappointed so fulfill my ambition and accept my prayer O' The Best who was ever prayed to! O' The Most bountiful who was ever wished! My hope, my Master is ever great but my deeds have worsened so grant me from Your pardon by as much as I had hoped and please, do not judge me by my worst mischief for Your generosity is greater than punishing the sinners and Your forbearance and patience is higher than recompensing the inadequates	فَإِنْ عَفَوْتَ [غَفَرْتَ ] فَخَيْرُ رَاحِمٍ وَ إِنْ عَذَّبْتَ فَغَيْرُ ظَالِمٍ حُجَّتِي يَا اللَّهُ فِي جُرْأَتِي عَلَى مَسْأَلَتِكَ مَعَ إِتْيَانِي مَا تَكْرَهُ جُودُكَ وَ كَرَمُكَ وَ عُدَّتِي فِي شِدَّتِي مَعَ قِلَّةِ حَيَائِي رَأْفَتُكَ وَ رَحْمَتُكَ وَ قَدْ رَجَوْتُ أَنْ لا تَخِيبَ بَيْنَ ذَيْنِ وَ ذَيْنِ مُنْيَتِي فَحَقِّقْ رَجَائِي وَ اسْمَعْ دُعَائِي يَا خَيْرَ مَنْ دَعَاهُ دَاعٍ وَ أَفْضَلَ مَنْ رَجَاهُ رَاجٍ عَظُمَ يَا سَيِّدِي أَمَلِي وَ سَاءَ عَمَلِي فَأَعْطِنِي مِنْ عَفْوِكَ بِمِقْدَارِ أَمَلِي وَ لا تُؤَاخِذْنِي بِأَسْوَإِ عَمَلِي فَإِنَّ كَرَمَكَ يَجِلُّ عَنْ مُجَازَاةِ الْمُذْنِبِينَ وَ حِلْمَكَ يَكْبُرُ عَنْ مُكَافَاةِ الْمُقَصِّرِينَ ،
I am, my Master, seeking refuge through Your bountifulness I am escaping from You to You while anticipating Your promise to forgive those who possessed good convictions toward You Who am I, my Lord, and what is my danger! Provide me with Your bounties and grant me charity with Your pardon O' my Lord, cover me with Your protection and pardon me of my punishment by the honor of you face For if any one today other than You would have known of my sin I would not have sinned And if I feared that You may hasten my punishment, I would have avoided sinning Not because You are not an important watcher nor an unworthy onlooker but because You, my Lord, are the best secret keeper and the Wisest of all rulers and Most generous of all generous	وَ أَنَا يَا سَيِّدِي عَائِذٌ بِفَضْلِكَ هَارِبٌ مِنْكَ إِلَيْكَ مُتَنَجِّزٌ مَا وَعَدْتَ مِنَ الصَّفْحِ عَمَّنْ أَحْسَنَ بِكَ ظَنّاً وَ مَا أَنَا يَا رَبِّ وَ مَا خَطَرِي هَبْنِي بِفَضْلِكَ وَ تَصَدَّقْ عَلَيَّ بِعَفْوِكَ أَيْ رَبِّ جَلِّلْنِي بِسَتْرِكَ وَ اعْفُ عَنْ تَوْبِيخِي بِكَرَمِ وَجْهِكَ فَلَوِ اطَّلَعَ الْيَوْمَ عَلَى ذَنْبِي غَيْرُكَ مَا فَعَلْتُهُ وَ لَوْ خِفْتُ تَعْجِيلَ الْعُقُوبَةِ لَاجْتَنَبْتُهُ لا لِأَنَّكَ أَهْوَنُ النَّاظِرِينَ [إِلَيَ ] وَ أَخَفُّ الْمُطَّلِعِينَ [عَلَيَ ] بَلْ لِأَنَّكَ يَا رَبِّ خَيْرُ السَّاتِرِينَ وَ أَحْكَمُ الْحَاكِمِينَ وَ أَكْرَمُ الْأَكْرَمِينَ ،
O' Protector of secrets! O' Oft-forgiver of sins! O' Knower of all that is hidden! You protect the secretive sin with Your generosity and You delay my punishment with Your patience So to You extends all the Praise for having known and yet been patient and for having pardoned even though You are capable (of punishing) And what motivates and dares me to disobey You is Your patience with me and what invites me to the lack of shyness (from You) is Your protection of my (concealed) sins And what rushes me towards Your forbidden actions is my awareness of the vastness of Your mercy and the greatness of Your forgiveness O' Forbearer! O' Generous! O' One who is living and self-subsisting! O' Forgiver of sin! O' Acceptor of repentance!	سَتَّارُ الْعُيُوبِ غَفَّارُ الذُّنُوبِ عَلامُ الْغُيُوبِ تَسْتُرُ الذَّنْبَ بِكَرَمِكَ وَ تُؤَخِّرُ الْعُقُوبَةَ بِحِلْمِكَ فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ عَلَى حِلْمِكَ بَعْدَ عِلْمِكَ وَ عَلَى عَفْوِكَ بَعْدَ قُدْرَتِكَ وَ يَحْمِلُنِي وَ يُجَرِّئُنِي عَلَى مَعْصِيَتِكَ حِلْمُكَ عَنِّي وَ يَدْعُونِي إِلَى قِلَّةِ الْحَيَاءِ سَتْرُكَ عَلَيَّ وَ يُسْرِعُنِي إِلَى التَّوَثُّبِ عَلَى مَحَارِمِكَ مَعْرِفَتِي بِسَعَةِ رَحْمَتِكَ وَ عَظِيمِ عَفْوِكَ يَا حَلِيمُ يَا كَرِيمُ يَا حَيُّ يَا قَيُّومُ يَا غَافِرَ الذَّنْبِ يَا قَابِلَ التَّوْبِ،
O' Greatest giver of all good! O' Ancient in bountifulness! I call upon Your beautiful protection of secrets I call upon Your abundant pardon I call upon Your neighboring relief I call upon Your quick rescue I call upon Your vast mercy and compassion I call upon Your bountiful gifts I call upon Your blessed awards I call upon Your splendid favors I call upon Your immense bountifulness I call upon Your enormous endowments I call upon Your ancient benefaction I call upon Your benevolence, O' Most Generous By it (what I mentioned of Your features) and in the name of Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad, I seek Your rescue and by Your compassion, please relieve me O' Benevolent! O' Creator of beauty!	يَا عَظِيمَ الْمَنِّ يَا قَدِيمَ الْإِحْسَانِ أَيْنَ سَتْرُكَ الْجَمِيلُ أَيْنَ عَفْوُكَ الْجَلِيلُ أَيْنَ فَرَجُكَ الْقَرِيبُ أَيْنَ غِيَاثُكَ السَّرِيعُ أَيْنَ رَحْمَتُكَ الْوَاسِعَةُ أَيْنَ عَطَايَاكَ الْفَاضِلَةُ أَيْنَ مَوَاهِبُكَ الْهَنِيئَةُ أَيْنَ صَنَائِعُكَ السَّنِيَّةُ أَيْنَ فَضْلُكَ الْعَظِيمُ أَيْنَ مَنُّكَ الْجَسِيمُ أَيْنَ إِحْسَانُكَ الْقَدِيمُ أَيْنَ كَرَمُكَ يَا كَرِيمُ بِهِ [وَ بِمُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ] فَاسْتَنْقِذْنِي وَ بِرَحْمَتِكَ فَخَلِّصْنِي يَا مُحْسِنُ يَا مُجْمِلُ،
O' Benefactor! O' Bountiful! I do not depend on our (good) deeds to achieve salvation from Your punishment rather I trust it to Your bountifulness toward us for You are the Lord of righteousness and the Lord of forgiveness You initiate Your giving through Your graciousness and You pardon sin with Your generosity and we do not know what we should praise more is it the beauties that You distribute or the sins whose secretiveness You protect or the greatness of what You have granted and fulfilled or the many misfortunes You have averted and ills You have cured O' The lover of whomever endeared You! O' The delight of the eye of who sought You for refuge and dedicated himself to You!	يَا مُنْعِمُ يَا مُفْضِلُ لَسْتُ أَتَّكِلُ فِي النَّجَاةِ مِنْ عِقَابِكَ عَلَى أَعْمَالِنَا بَلْ بِفَضْلِكَ عَلَيْنَا لِأَنَّكَ أَهْلُ التَّقْوَى وَ أَهْلُ الْمَغْفِرَةِ تُبْدِئُ بِالْإِحْسَانِ نِعَما وَ تَعْفُو عَنِ الذَّنْبِ كَرَما فَمَا نَدْرِي مَا نَشْكُرُ أَ جَمِيلَ مَا تَنْشُرُ أَمْ قَبِيحَ مَا تَسْتُرُ أَمْ عَظِيمَ مَا أَبْلَيْتَ وَ أَوْلَيْتَ أَمْ كَثِيرَ مَا مِنْهُ نَجَّيْتَ وَ عَافَيْتَ يَا حَبِيبَ مَنْ تَحَبَّبَ إِلَيْكَ وَ يَا قُرَّةَ عَيْنِ مَنْ لاذَ بِكَ وَ انْقَطَعَ إِلَيْكَ ،
You are the All-benevolent and we are the malevolent So pardon, O' my Lord, the ugly that we have with the beauties that You have And what ignorance, O' my Lord, cannot be accommodated by Your benevolence? And what era is longer than Your patience? And what significance is our deeds compared with Your awards? And how can we hail our good deeds when we observe Your generosity? Yet how can sinners despair when they are encompassed by Your vast mercy? O' Vast Forgiver! O' Extender of both hands with mercy! I swear with Your exalted might, O' Master that if You rebuked me, I would not depart from Your door and I won't cease to compliment You since I have indeed come to grasp the knowledge of Your generosity and benevolence And You are the doer of whatever You desire You punish whomever You wish, with whatever You wish and however You wish and You bestow Your mercy on whomever You wish, with whatever You wish, and however You wish	أَنْتَ الْمُحْسِنُ وَ نَحْنُ الْمُسِيئُونَ فَتَجَاوَزْ يَا رَبِّ عَنْ قَبِيحِ مَا عِنْدَنَا بِجَمِيلِ مَا عِنْدَكَ وَ أَيُّ جَهْلٍ يَا رَبِّ لا يَسَعُهُ جُودُكَ أَوْ أَيُّ زَمَانٍ أَطْوَلُ مِنْ أَنَاتِكَ وَ مَا قَدْرُ أَعْمَالِنَا فِي جَنْبِ نِعَمِكَ وَ كَيْفَ نَسْتَكْثِرُ أَعْمَالا نُقَابِلُ بِهَا كَرَمَكَ [كَرَامَتَكَ ] بَلْ كَيْفَ يَضِيقُ عَلَى الْمُذْنِبِينَ مَا وَسِعَهُمْ مِنْ رَحْمَتِكَ يَا وَاسِعَ الْمَغْفِرَةِ يَا بَاسِطَ الْيَدَيْنِ بِالرَّحْمَةِ فَوَ عِزَّتِكَ يَا سَيِّدِي لَوْ نَهَرْتَنِي [انْتَهَرْتَنِي ] مَا بَرِحْتُ مِنْ بَابِكَ وَ لا كَفَفْتُ عَنْ تَمَلُّقِكَ لِمَا انْتَهَى إِلَيَّ مِنَ الْمَعْرِفَةِ بِجُودِكَ وَ كَرَمِكَ وَ أَنْتَ الْفَاعِلُ لِمَا تَشَاءُ تُعَذِّبُ مَنْ تَشَاءُ بِمَا تَشَاءُ كَيْفَ تَشَاءُ وَ تَرْحَمُ مَنْ تَشَاءُ بِمَا تَشَاءُ كَيْفَ تَشَاءُ
You are never questioned about Your doings neither is there any struggle in Your kingdom nor is there any partnership in Your command or conflict in Your judgment and no one can oppose You in Your disposition of affairs To You belongs all of the creation and command Indeed Allah, the Most Glorious, is the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds O' my Lord! This is the posture of the one who sought refuge through You and allied himself with Your generosity and became accustomed to Your forbearance and favors And You are the benevolent whose forgiveness is never strained neither are Your bounties ever decreasing nor is Your mercy ever lacking And we have known with certainty of Your ancient pardon, great bountifulness and vast mercy	لا تُسْأَلُ عَنْ فِعْلِكَ وَ لا تُنَازَعُ فِي مُلْكِكَ وَ لا تُشَارَكُ فِي أَمْرِكَ وَ لا تُضَادُّ فِي حُكْمِكَ وَ لا يَعْتَرِضُ عَلَيْكَ أَحَدٌ فِي تَدْبِيرِكَ لَكَ الْخَلْقُ وَ الْأَمْرُ تَبَارَكَ اللَّهُ رَبُّ الْعَالَمِينَ يَا رَبِّ هَذَا مَقَامُ مَنْ لاذَ بِكَ وَ اسْتَجَارَ بِكَرَمِكَ وَ أَلِفَ إِحْسَانَكَ وَ نِعَمَكَ وَ أَنْتَ الْجَوَادُ الَّذِي لا يَضِيقُ عَفْوُكَ وَ لا يَنْقُصُ فَضْلُكَ وَ لا تَقِلُّ رَحْمَتُكَ وَ قَدْ تَوَثَّقْنَا مِنْكَ بِالصَّفْحِ الْقَدِيمِ وَ الْفَضْلِ الْعَظِيمِ، وَ الرَّحْمَةِ الْوَاسِعَةِ
Would You, O' Allah, ever disappoint our thoughts or let down our hopes? No never, O' Most Generous! for it is not what we expect of You nor is it what we aspire for O' Allah, we have a greater and everlasting hope in You We anticipate prolonged and immense prospect in You We anticipate great desire in You And we prayed to You and we hope You would answer us We disobeyed You and now we wish that You protect our secret (sins) So fulfill our aspiration, O' our Master for otherwise, we realize (the punishment) we deserve as a result of our bad deeds But Your awareness of our conduct and our knowledge that You indeed won't send us away from You has motivated us to seek You and even though we are not worthy of Your mercy You are worthy of bestowing Your generosity on us and on all the sinners due to Your vast compassion	أَ فَتَرَاكَ [تُرَاكَ ] يَا رَبِّ تُخْلِفُ ظُنُونَنَا أَوْ تُخَيِّبُ آمَالَنَا كَلّا يَا كَرِيمُ فَلَيْسَ هَذَا ظَنَّنَا بِكَ وَ لًا هَذَا فِيكَ طَمَعَنَا يَا رَبِّ إِنَّ لَنَا فِيكَ أَمَلاً طَوِيلاً كَثِيراً إِنَّ لَنَا فِيكَ رَجَاءً عَظِيماً عَصَيْنَاكَ وَ نَحْنُ نَرْجُو أَنْ تَسْتُرَ عَلَيْنَا وَ دَعَوْنَاكَ وَ نَحْنُ نَرْجُو أَنْ تَسْتَجِيبَ لَنَا فَحَقِّقْ رَجَاءَنَا مَوْلانَا فَقَدْ عَلِمْنَا مَا نَسْتَوْجِبُ بِأَعْمَالِنَا وَ لَكِنْ عِلْمُكَ فِينَا وَ عِلْمُنَا بِأَنَّكَ لا تَصْرِفُنَا عَنْكَ وَ إِنْ كُنَّا غَيْرَ مُسْتَوْجِبِينَ لِرَحْمَتِكَ فَأَنْتَ أَهْلٌ أَنْ تَجُودَ عَلَيْنَا وَ عَلَى الْمُذْنِبِينَ بِفَضْلِ سَعَتِكَ
So, award us with what You are worthy of and grant us for we are in need of Your bounty O' Most Forgiving! With Your light we were guided and with Your bounties we became richer and with Your favors we are encountered mornings and evenings Our sins are before You and we ask You, O' Master, for forgiveness and we hereby repent You befriend us with Your gifts but we reward You by sins Your bounty to us is ever descending but our mischief to You is (ever) ascending And from before and until now, Your honored angel still brings You the news of our ugly deeds but that does not prevent You from continuing to surround us with Your grace and kindly provide us with Your holy features	فَامْنُنْ عَلَيْنَا بِمَا أَنْتَ أَهْلُهُ وَ جُدْ عَلَيْنَا فَإِنَّا مُحْتَاجُونَ إِلَى نَيْلِكَ يَا غَفَّارُ بِنُورِكَ اهْتَدَيْنَا وَ بِفَضْلِكَ اسْتَغْنَيْنَا وَ بِنِعْمَتِكَ [فِي نِعَمِكَ ] أَصْبَحْنَا وَ أَمْسَيْنَا ذُنُوبُنَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ نَسْتَغْفِرُكَ اللَّهُمَّ مِنْهَا وَ نَتُوبُ إِلَيْكَ تَتَحَبَّبُ إِلَيْنَا بِالنِّعَمِ وَ نُعَارِضُكَ بِالذُّنُوبِ خَيْرُكَ إِلَيْنَا نَازِلٌ وَ شَرُّنَا إِلَيْكَ صَاعِدٌ وَ لَمْ يَزَلْ وَ لا يَزَالُ مَلَكٌ كَرِيمٌ يَأْتِيكَ [عَنَّا] بِعَمَلٍ قَبِيحٍ فَلا يَمْنَعُكَ ذَلِكَ مِنْ أَنْ تَحُوطَنَا بِنِعَمِكَ وَ تَتَفَضَّلَ عَلَيْنَا بِآلائِكَ
So, I glorify and praise You for the extent of Your patience greatness and generosity as a Beginner (of creation) and eventual Claimer of this world Holiest are Your names And glorified is Your praise And honored are Your favors and good deeds You, my Lord, are more vast in bounty and greater in patience and clemency than to judge me according to my wrong doing and fault So I beg You : Forgiveness, forgiveness, forgiveness O' my Master, O' my Master, O' my Master	فَسُبْحَانَكَ مَا أَحْلَمَكَ وَ أَعْظَمَكَ وَ أَكْرَمَكَ مُبْدِئاً وَ مُعِيداً تَقَدَّسَتْ أَسْمَاؤُكَ وَ جَلَّ ثَنَاؤُكَ وَ كَرُمَ صَنَائِعُكَ وَ فِعَالُكَ أَنْتَ إِلَهِي أَوْسَعُ فَضْلاً وَ أَعْظَمُ حِلْماً مِنْ أَنْ تُقَايِسَنِي بِفِعْلِي وَ خَطِيئَتِي فَالْعَفْوَ الْعَفْوَ الْعَفْوَ سَيِّدِي سَيِّدِي سَيِّدِي.
O' Lord! Occupy our time with Your remembrance And guard us from Your wrath And protect us from Your punishment And grant us from Your rewards And award us from Your bounties And provides us the means to conduct pilgrimage to Your house (Ka'ba) and to visit the tomb of Your Prophet may Your peace, mercy, forgiveness and graciousness be bestowed upon him and his family Indeed, You are close and forthcoming with Your answer (to our prayers) And assist us in abiding by Your obedience and claim our souls while we are in Your (righteous) congregation and followers of the tradition of Your Prophet may peace of Allah be upon him and his family O' Lord! Forgive me and my parents and grant them mercy as they have raised me since I was youthful reward their good deeds with bountifulness and (pardon) their sins with forgiveness	اللَّهُمَّ اشْغَلْنَا بِذِكْرِكَ وَ أَعِذْنَا مِنْ سَخَطِكَ وَ أَجِرْنَا مِنْ عَذَابِكَ وَ ارْزُقْنَا مِنْ مَوَاهِبِكَ وَ أَنْعِمْ عَلَيْنَا مِنْ فَضْلِكَ وَ ارْزُقْنَا حَجَّ بَيْتِكَ وَ زِيَارَةَ قَبْرِ نَبِيِّكَ صَلَوَاتُكَ وَ رَحْمَتُكَ وَ مَغْفِرَتُكَ وَ رِضْوَانُكَ عَلَيْهِ وَ عَلَى أَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ إِنَّكَ قَرِيبٌ مُجِيبٌ وَ ارْزُقْنَا عَمَلاً بِطَاعَتِكَ وَ تَوَفَّنَا عَلَى مِلَّتِكَ وَ سُنَّةِ نَبِيِّكَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَ لِوَالِدَيَّ وَ ارْحَمْهُمَا كَمَا رَبَّيَانِي صَغِيرًا إِجْزِهِمَا بِالْإِحْسَانِ إِحْسَاناً وَ بِالسَّيِّئَاتِ غُفْرَاناً
O' Lord! Forgive the believers, be they men or women living or dead and let us follow on their path with good deeds O' Lord! Forgive (for) the living or deceased of us (believers) the present and the absent our male and female our young and old our free and our slaves Indeed the antagonists of Allah lied and enormously wandered astray and incurred a major loss O' Lord! Bestow Your peace on Muhammad and his family and conclude my life in virtue and resolve what worries me from the affairs of this life and in the hereafter and do not allow anyone who won't treat me justly to come in contact with me and provide me with Your everlasting protection	اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَ الْمُؤْمِنَاتِ الْأَحْيَاءِ مِنْهُمْ وَ الْأَمْوَاتِ وَ تَابِعْ بَيْنَنَا وَ بَيْنَهُمْ بِالْخَيْرَاتِ [فِي الْخَيْرَاتِ ] اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِحَيِّنَا وَ مَيِّتِنَا وَ شَاهِدِنَا وَ غَائِبِنَا ذَكَرِنَا وَ أُنْثَانَا [إِنَاثِنَا] صَغِيرِنَا وَ كَبِيرِنَا حُرِّنَا وَ مَمْلُوكِنَا كَذَبَ الْعَادِلُونَ بِاللَّهِ وَ ضَلُّوا ضَلالاً بَعِيداً وَ خَسِرُوا خُسْرَاناً مُبِينا اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ اخْتِمْ لِي بِخَيْرٍ وَ اكْفِنِي مَا أَهَمَّنِي مِنْ أَمْرِ دُنْيَايَ وَ آخِرَتِي وَ لا تُسَلِّطْ عَلَيَّ مَنْ لا يَرْحَمُنِي وَ اجْعَلْ عَلَيَّ مِنْكَ وَاقِيَةً بَاقِيَةً،
and do not deprive me of the best of the amenities You have graced me with and confer on me from Your bounties, vast awards that are lawful and good O' Lord! Guard me with Your safeguard And protect me with Your protection And ally me with Your alliance And award me the ability to conduct pilgrimage to Your sacred house (Ka'ba) in this year and in every year and to visit the tomb of Your prophet and the Imams, peace be upon them and do not deprive me, Oh Lord, from visiting these honorable sanctuaries and noble positions	وَ لا تَسْلُبْنِي صَالِحَ مَا أَنْعَمْتَ بِهِ عَلَيَّ وَ ارْزُقْنِي مِنْ فَضْلِكَ رِزْقاً وَاسِعاً حَلالاً طَيِّباً اللَّهُمَّ احْرُسْنِي بِحَرَاسَتِكَ وَ احْفَظْنِي بِحِفْظِكَ وَ اكْلَأْنِي بِكِلاءَتِكَ وَ ارْزُقْنِي حِجَّ بَيْتِكَ الْحَرَامِ فِي عَامِنَا هَذَا وَ فِي كُلِّ عَامٍ وَ زِيَارَةَ قَبْرِ نَبِيِّكَ وَ الْأَئِمَّةِ عَلَيْهِمُ السَّلامُ وَ لا تُخْلِنِي يَا رَبِّ مِنْ تِلْكَ الْمَشَاهِدِ الشَّرِيفَةِ وَ الْمَوَاقِفِ الْكَرِيمَةِ.
O' Lord! Accept my repentance so that I may not disobey You And inspire me with righteousness and its implementation And the observance of Your presence in the night and the day as long as You let me live O' Allah and Cherisher of the worlds O' Lord! I, whenever I thought I was prepared and ready and rose to pray, before Your hands, and confided to You, You cast sleep on me when I prayed and You prevented me from confiding to You when I confided Why is it that whenever I felt content about the goodness of my core and my companionships have neared that of the repenters a sin would occur and cause my feet to stumble, and deprive me from Your service	اللَّهُمَّ تُبْ عَلَيَّ حَتَّى لا أَعْصِيَكَ وَ أَلْهِمْنِي الْخَيْرَ وَ الْعَمَلَ بِهِ وَ خَشْيَتَكَ بِاللَّيْلِ وَ النَّهَارِ مَا أَبْقَيْتَنِي يَا رَبَّ الْعَالَمِينَ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي كُلَّمَا قُلْتُ قَدْ تَهَيَّأْتُ وَ تَعَبَّأْتُ [تَعَبَّيْتُ ] وَ قُمْتُ لِلصَّلاةِ بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ وَ نَاجَيْتُكَ أَلْقَيْتَ عَلَيَّ نُعَاساً إِذَا أَنَا صَلَّيْتُ وَ سَلَبْتَنِي مُنَاجَاتَكَ إِذَا أَنَا نَاجَيْتُ مَا لِي كُلَّمَا قُلْتُ قَدْ صَلَحَتْ سَرِيرَتِي وَ قَرُبَ مِنْ مَجَالِسِ التَّوَّابِينَ مَجْلِسِي عَرَضَتْ لِي بَلِيَّةٌ أَزَالَتْ قَدَمِي وَ حَالَتْ بَيْنِي وَ بَيْنَ خِدْمَتِكَ
O' my Master, Maybe You have expelled me from Your door and retired me from Your service or maybe You observed my disregard of Your right on me and thus distanced me or maybe You saw me headed away from (Your path) and thus You withdrew me or maybe You found me to be in the position of the liars so You rejected me or maybe You saw that I was not grateful of Your rewards so You deprived me or maybe You observed my absence from the assembly of the scholars and thus put me down or maybe You found me to be one of the unheeding so You despaired me from Your mercy or maybe You found me to be one of the unheeding so You despaired me from Your mercy or maybe You did not like to listen to my prayers so You distanced me or maybe You equated me with my crime and sin	سَيِّدِي لَعَلَّكَ عَنْ بَابِكَ طَرَدْتَنِي وَ عَنْ خِدْمَتِكَ نَحَّيْتَنِي أَوْ لَعَلَّكَ رَأَيْتَنِي مُسْتَخِفّاً بِحَقِّكَ فَأَقْصَيْتَنِي أَوْ لَعَلَّكَ رَأَيْتَنِي مُعْرِضاً عَنْكَ فَقَلَيْتَنِي أَوْ لَعَلَّكَ وَجَدْتَنِي فِي مَقَامِ الْكَاذِبِينَ [الْكَذَّابِينَ ] فَرَفَضْتَنِي أَوْ لَعَلَّكَ رَأَيْتَنِي غَيْرَ شَاكِرٍ لِنَعْمَائِكَ فَحَرَمْتَنِي أَوْ لَعَلَّكَ فَقَدْتَنِي مِنْ مَجَالِسِ الْعُلَمَاءِ فَخَذَلْتَنِي أَوْ لَعَلَّكَ رَأَيْتَنِي فِي الْغَافِلِينَ فَمِنْ رَحْمَتِكَ آيَسْتَنِي أَوْ لَعَلَّكَ رَأَيْتَنِي آلِفَ مَجَالِسِ الْبَطَّالِينَ فَبَيْنِي وَ بَيْنَهُمْ خَلَّيْتَنِي أَوْ لَعَلَّكَ لَمْ تُحِبَّ أَنْ تَسْمَعَ دُعَائِي فَبَاعَدْتَنِي أَوْ لَعَلَّكَ بِجُرْمِي وَ جَرِيرَتِي كَافَيْتَنِي،
or maybe You punished me for my lack of shyness from You So if You forgive, O' Lord, You have forgiven the many sinners before me For Your generosity, O' Lord, is higher than punishing the delinquents and I am seeking refuge with Your bountifulness, and I am escaping from You to You and anticipating Your promise to pardon those who possessed good convictions about You O' My Lord! You are more vast in bountifulness and greater in patience than to judge me according to my deed or to stumble me with my sin And who am I, my Master, and what is my danger?	أَوْ لَعَلَّكَ بِقِلَّةِ حَيَائِي مِنْكَ جَازَيْتَنِي فَإِنْ عَفَوْتَ يَا رَبِّ فَطَالَمَا عَفَوْتَ عَنِ الْمُذْنِبِينَ قَبْلِي لِأَنَّ كَرَمَكَ أَيْ رَبِّ يَجِلُّ عَنْ مُكَافَاةِ الْمُقَصِّرِينَ وَ أَنَا عَائِذٌ بِفَضْلِكَ هَارِبٌ مِنْكَ إِلَيْكَ مُتَنَجِّزٌ [مُنْتَجِزٌ] مَا وَعَدْتَ مِنَ الصَّفْحِ عَمَّنْ أَحْسَنَ بِكَ ظَنّاً إِلَهِي أَنْتَ أَوْسَعُ فَضْلاً وَ أَعْظَمُ حِلْماً مِنْ أَنْ تُقَايِسَنِي بِعَمَلِي أَوْ أَنْ تَسْتَزِلَّنِي بِخَطِيئَتِي وَ مَا أَنَا يَا سَيِّدِي وَ مَا خَطَرِي
award me Your benevolence, O' my Master! And render me Your pardon and cover me with the protection of my secrets and pardon me from Your chastisement with Your benevolent face O' Master! I am the young one whom You raised And I am the ignorant whom You educated And I am the misled whom You guided And I am the humiliated one whom You elevated And I am the frightened one whom You safeguarded And the hungry one whom You fed And the thirsty whose thirst You quenched And the naked whom You dressed And the poor whom You made wealthy And the weak whom You strengthened And the insignificant whom You honored	هَبْنِي بِفَضْلِكَ سَيِّدِي وَ تَصَدَّقْ عَلَيَّ بِعَفْوِكَ وَ جَلِّلْنِي بِسَتْرِكَ وَ اعْفُ عَنْ تَوْبِيخِي بِكَرَمِ وَجْهِكَ سَيِّدِي أَنَا الصَّغِيرُ الَّذِي رَبَّيْتَهُ وَ أَنَا الْجَاهِلُ الَّذِي عَلَّمْتَهُ وَ أَنَا الضَّالُّ الَّذِي هَدَيْتَهُ وَ أَنَا الْوَضِيعُ الَّذِي رَفَعْتَهُ وَ أَنَا الْخَائِفُ الَّذِي آمَنْتَهُ وَ الْجَائِعُ الَّذِي أَشْبَعْتَهُ وَ الْعَطْشَانُ الَّذِي أَرْوَيْتَهُ وَ الْعَارِي الَّذِي كَسَوْتَهُ وَ الْفَقِيرُ الَّذِي أَغْنَيْتَهُ وَ الضَّعِيفُ الَّذِي قَوَّيْتَهُ وَ الذَّلِيلُ الَّذِي أَعْزَزْتَهُ
And the sick whom You cured And the beggar whom You provided charity to And the sinner whose secret You have protected And the wrong doer whom You aided And I am the little (creature) You made more significant And the oppressed whom You made victorious And I am the escapee whom You gave refuge to I am the one, O' Allah, who did not revere You (when I committed sins) in my seclusions nor observed Your (commands) in public I am the committer of the grave transgressions I am the one who challenged his Master I am the one who disobeyed the All-great of the heavens I am the one who awarded the briberies upon the disobeying of the Magnificent (Allah) I am the one who when I was forewarned about it (sins), I hastily raced to it I am the one whom You awaited (His reverence) but I did not comprehend and You veiled my secret (sins) but I did not become demure and I committed sins until I belligerently insisted	وَ السَّقِيمُ الَّذِي شَفَيْتَهُ وَ السَّائِلُ الَّذِي أَعْطَيْتَهُ وَ الْمُذْنِبُ الَّذِي سَتَرْتَهُ وَ الْخَاطِئُ الَّذِي أَقَلْتَهُ وَ أَنَا الْقَلِيلُ الَّذِي كَثَّرْتَهُ وَ الْمُسْتَضْعَفُ الَّذِي نَصَرْتَهُ وَ أَنَا الطَّرِيدُ الَّذِي آوَيْتَهُ أَنَا يَا رَبِّ الَّذِي لَمْ أَسْتَحْيِكَ فِي الْخَلاءِ وَ لَمْ أُرَاقِبْكَ فِي الْمَلَإِ أَنَا صَاحِبُ الدَّوَاهِي الْعُظْمَى أَنَا الَّذِي عَلَى سَيِّدِهِ اجْتَرَى أَنَا الَّذِي عَصَيْتُ جَبَّارَ السَّمَاءِ أَنَا الَّذِي أَعْطَيْتُ عَلَى مَعَاصِي الْجَلِيلِ الرُّشَا أَنَا الَّذِي حِينَ بُشِّرْتُ بِهَا خَرَجْتُ إِلَيْهَا أَسْعَى أَنَا الَّذِي أَمْهَلْتَنِي فَمَا ارْعَوَيْتُ وَ سَتَرْتَ عَلَيَّ فَمَا اسْتَحْيَيْتُ وَ عَمِلْتُ بِالْمَعَاصِي فَتَعَدَّيْتُ
and You then disregarded me but I did not care but with Your benevolence , You postponed my punishment and with Your veil, You safeguarded my secret (sins) as if You had overlooked me and You shielded me from punishment called upon me by my sins all to the extent that it appeared as if You shied off from me O' my Lord! I did not disobey You when I did because I rejected Your divinity or because I belittled Your commands or that I was daringly challenging Your punishment or that I did not appreciate Your forewarning Yet the mistake has occurred, and my self misled me and my sinful desires won over me and my misery helped me to it and Your protective veil over my sins lured me For I have disobeyed You and opposed You with my own will Now, who can ever save me from Your chastisement? Tomorrow, who can save me from the hands of my rivals?	وَ أَسْقَطْتَنِي مِنْ عَيْنِكَ [عِنْدِكَ ] فَمَا بَالَيْتُ فَبِحِلْمِكَ أَمْهَلْتَنِي وَ بِسِتْرِكَ سَتَرْتَنِي حَتَّى كَأَنَّكَ أَغْفَلْتَنِي وَ مِنْ عُقُوبَاتِ الْمَعَاصِي جَنَّبْتَنِي حَتَّى كَأَنَّكَ اسْتَحْيَيْتَنِي إِلَهِي لَمْ أَعْصِكَ حِينَ عَصَيْتُكَ وَ أَنَا بِرُبُوبِيَّتِكَ جَاحِدٌ وَ لا بِأَمْرِكَ مُسْتَخِفٌّ وَ لا لِعُقُوبَتِكَ مُتَعَرِّضٌ وَ لا لِوَعِيدِكَ مُتَهَاوِنٌ لَكِنْ خَطِيئَةٌ عَرَضَتْ وَ سَوَّلَتْ لِي نَفْسِي وَ غَلَبَنِي هَوَايَ وَ أَعَانَنِي عَلَيْهَا شِقْوَتِي وَ غَرَّنِي سِتْرُكَ الْمُرْخَى عَلَيَّ فَقَدْ عَصَيْتُكَ وَ خَالَفْتُكَ بِجُهْدِي فَالْآنَ مِنْ عَذَابِكَ مَنْ يَسْتَنْقِذُنِي وَ مِنْ أَيْدِي الْخُصَمَاءِ غَدا مَنْ يُخَلِّصُنِي
Whose rope will I catch if You cut off the rope between You and me? Shame on me for my evildoings that Your Book has recorded Had it not been for Your generosity, the breadth of Your mercy as well as Your ordering me not to lose hope (in Your salvation), I would have despaired whenever I remembered it (my sin) O' the Best of whom a worshiper has ever prayed and the Foremost of whom anyone has wished! O' Lord! In the name of the esteemed Islam I implore You I rely upon You in the name of the sanctity of the Qur’an And with my love for the unschooled Prophet (Muhammad) The Quraishian (the main tribe in Mecca) The Hashimite (The family name of Prophet Muhammad) The Arabian, The Tuhamian (the name of the region where Quraish is located) The Meccan, The Medinan (tracing prophet Muhammad's roots to the city of Medina where He migrated to) I seek to be closer to You (I seek favor to You) So please do not disrupt the serenity of my faith	وَ بِحَبْلِ مَنْ أَتَّصِلُ إِنْ أَنْتَ قَطَعْتَ حَبْلَكَ عَنِّي فَوَا سَوْأَتَا [أَسَفَا] عَلَى مَا أَحْصَى كِتَابُكَ مِنْ عَمَلِيَ الَّذِي لَوْ لا مَا أَرْجُو مِنْ كَرَمِكَ وَ سَعَةِ رَحْمَتِكَ وَ نَهْيِكَ إِيَّايَ عَنِ الْقُنُوطِ لَقَنَطْتُ عِنْدَ مَا أَتَذَكَّرُهَا يَا خَيْرَ مَنْ دَعَاهُ دَاعٍ وَ أَفْضَلَ مَنْ رَجَاهُ رَاجٍ اللَّهُمَّ بِذِمَّةِ الْإِسْلامِ أَتَوَسَّلُ إِلَيْكَ وَ بِحُرْمَةِ الْقُرْآنِ أَعْتَمِدُ إِلَيْكَ وَ بِحُبِّي النَّبِيَّ االْأُمِّيَّ الْقُرَشِيَّ الْهَاشِمِيَّ الْعَرَبِيَّ التِّهَامِيَّ الْمَكِّيَّ الْمَدَنِيَّ أَرْجُو الزُّلْفَةَ لَدَيْكَ فَلا تُوحِشْ اسْتِينَاسَ إِيمَانِي
And please do not cause my ultimate destiny to be similar to that of those who worshipped other than You For, indeed there are some who believed only to the extent of their tongues so that they may save their lives and they gathered what they wished But we have believed in You with our tongues and with our hearts so that You may pardon us So grant us what we wish for And anchor our hope in You, in our hearts And do not let our hearts go astray after You have guided us And grant us Your mercy Indeed You are the Utmost Granter And I swear with Your glory, that even if You send me away that I would not depart from Your door and I would not cease to compliment You for my heart has been fully inspired with the knowledge of Your benevolence and vastness of compassion To where would a slave go but to his master To where would a creature seek refuge but to with Creator	وَ لا تَجْعَلْ ثَوَابِي ثَوَابَ مَنْ عَبَدَ سِوَاكَ فَإِنَّ قَوْماً آمَنُوا بِأَلْسِنَتِهِمْ لِيَحْقِنُوا بِهِ دِمَاءَهُمْ فَأَدْرَكُوا مَا أَمَّلُوا وَ إِنَّا آمَنَّا بِكَ بِأَلْسِنَتِنَا وَ قُلُوبِنَا لِتَعْفُوَ عَنَّا فَأَدْرِكْنَا [فَأَدْرِكْ بِنَا] مَا أَمَّلْنَا وَ ثَبِّتْ رَجَاءَكَ فِي صُدُورِنَا وَ لا تُزِغْ قُلُوبَنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَيْتَنَا وَ هَبْ لَنَا مِنْ لَدُنْكَ رَحْمَةً إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْوَهَّابُ فَوَ عِزَّتِكَ لَوِ انْتَهَرْتَنِي مَا بَرِحْتُ مِنْ بَابِكَ وَ لا كَفَفْتُ عَنْ تَمَلُّقِكَ لِمَا أُلْهِمَ قَلْبِي [يَا سَيِّدِي ] مِنَ الْمَعْرِفَةِ بِكَرَمِكَ وَ سَعَةِ رَحْمَتِكَ إِلَى مَنْ يَذْهَبُ الْعَبْدُ إِلّا إِلَى مَوْلاهُ وَ إِلَى مَنْ يَلْتَجِئُ الْمَخْلُوقُ إِلّا إِلَى خَالِقِهِ.
O' my Lord! Even if You tied me with the chains of hell And You deprived me Your flowing stream (of favors) from between the witnesses (of the day of Judgment) And divulge all my scandalous acts before the eyes of all Your servants And You ordered me to hell And You isolated me from the company of the faithful I would not end my hope in You and I would not dismiss my reassurance of Your pardon and my love for You would not depart from my heart I do not forget the helping hand You bestowed upon me and Your having concealed my defects in the worldly abode O' my Master! Remove the adoration of worldliness from my heart And unite me with Mustafa (Muhammad: the chosen messenger) and his family the dearest of Your creatures and the last of the prophets, Muhammad, Peace from Allah upon him and his family	إِلَهِي لَوْ قَرَنْتَنِي بِالْأَصْفَادِ وَ مَنَعْتَنِي سَيْبَكَ مِنْ بَيْنِ الْأَشْهَادِ وَ دَلَلْتَ عَلَى فَضَائِحِي عُيُونَ الْعِبَادِ وَ أَمَرْتَ بِي إِلَى النَّارِ وَ حُلْتَ بَيْنِي وَ بَيْنَ الْأَبْرَارِ مَا قَطَعْتُ رَجَائِي مِنْكَ وَ مَا صَرَفْتُ تَأْمِيلِي لِلْعَفْوِ عَنْكَ وَ لا خَرَجَ حُبُّكَ مِنْ قَلْبِي أَنَا لا أَنْسَى أَيَادِيَكَ عِنْدِي وَ سَتْرَكَ عَلَيَّ فِي دَارِ الدُّنْيَا سَيِّدِي أَخْرِجْ حُبَّ الدُّنْيَا مِنْ قَلْبِي وَ اجْمَعْ بَيْنِي وَ بَيْنَ الْمُصْطَفَى وَ آلِهِ خِيَرَتِكَ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ وَ خَاتَمِ النَّبِيِّينَ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ.
And move me to the rank of repentance with You And help me to cry for myself for I have wasted my life away with procrastination and false hopes And now I have come to You hopeless of my goodness Who is more worse off than me if now I am passed on in my present state to a grave that I have neither paved for my long stay nor furnished with righteous deed for my extended abode. And why would I not weep for I have no knowledge of my fate and I observe my self deceiving itself and my days are fading away and the wings of death have flapped close by So why wouldn't I cry! I weep for my soul’s departing my body I weep for the darkness of my grave I weep for the narrowness of my vault I weep for the questioning of Munkar and Nakeer of me (the names of the two angels that question the dead after being laid in the graves)	وَ انْقُلْنِي إِلَى دَرَجَةِ التَّوْبَةِ إِلَيْكَ وَ أَعِنِّي بِالْبُكَاءِ عَلَى نَفْسِي فَقَدْ أَفْنَيْتُ بِالتَّسْوِيفِ وَ الْآمَالِ عُمُرِي وَ قَدْ نَزَلْتُ مَنْزِلَةَ الْآيِسِينَ مِنْ خَيْرِي [حَيَاتِي ] فَمَنْ يَكُونُ أَسْوَأَ حَالاً مِنِّي إِنْ أَنَا نُقِلْتُ عَلَى مِثْلِ حَالِي إِلَى قَبْرِي [قَبْرٍ] لَمْ أُمَهِّدْهُ لِرَقْدَتِي وَ لَمْ أَفْرُشْهُ بِالْعَمَلِ الصَّالِحِ لِضَجْعَتِي وَ مَا لِي لا أَبْكِي وَ لا أَدْرِي إِلَى مَا يَكُونُ مَصِيرِي وَ أَرَى نَفْسِي تُخَادِعُنِي وَ أَيَّامِي تُخَاتِلُنِي وَ قَدْ خَفَقَتْ عِنْدَ [فَوْقَ ] رَأْسِي أَجْنِحَةُ الْمَوْتِ فَمَا لِي لا أَبْكِي أَبْكِي لِخُرُوجِ نَفْسِي أَبْكِي لِظُلْمَةِ قَبْرِي أَبْكِي لِضِيقِ لَحْدِي أَبْكِي لِسُؤَالِ مُنْكَرٍ وَ نَكِيرٍ إِيَّايَ
I weep for my coming out of my grave (on the Resurrection Day) naked, humiliated and carrying my book (of deeds) on my back I look to the right once and to the left once Behold! The creatures will each be engaged with matters other than mine for every person that day has a concern of his own Many faces on that day shall be bright, laughing, joyous. And many faces on that day, on them shall be dust. Darkness, and humiliation shall cover them O' Master! I settle my destination, dependence hope and reliance upon You And with Your mercy, I cling You bestow Your mercy on whomever You please and You guide with Your benevolence whomever You like So praise to You for Your purifying my heart from taking false partners to You And praise to You for releasing my tongue How can I praise You properly while my tongue is too short to do so?	أَبْكِي لِخُرُوجِي مِنْ قَبْرِي عُرْيَاناً ذَلِيلاً حَامِلاً ثِقْلِي عَلَى ظَهْرِي أَنْظُرُ مَرَّةً عَنْ يَمِينِي وَ أُخْرَى عَنْ شِمَالِي إِذِ الْخَلائِقُ فِي شَأْنٍ غَيْرِ شَأْنِي لِكُلِّ امْرِئٍ مِنْهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ شَأْنٌ يُغْنِيهِ وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ مُسْفِرَةٌ ضَاحِكَةٌ مُسْتَبْشِرَةٌ وَ وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَلَيْهَا غَبَرَةٌ تَرْهَقُهَا قَتَرَةٌ وَ ذِلَّةٌ سَيِّدِي عَلَيْكَ مُعَوَّلِي وَ مُعْتَمَدِي وَ رَجَائِي وَ تَوَكُّلِي وَ بِرَحْمَتِكَ تَعَلُّقِي تُصِيبُ بِرَحْمَتِكَ مَنْ تَشَاءُ وَ تَهْدِي بِكَرَامَتِكَ مَنْ تُحِبُّ فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ عَلَى مَا نَقَّيْتَ مِنَ الشِّرْكِ قَلْبِي وَ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ عَلَى بَسْطِ لِسَانِي أَ فَبِلِسَانِي هَذَا الْكَالِّ أَشْكُرُكَ
How can I please You while the extent of my efforts is too short to do so? What extent can my tongue reach if compared to the limitless extent of thanking You? What amount can my efforts reach if compared to the limitless amount of Your graces and favors? O' my Lord! Indeed Your generosity has expanded my hope (in You) It is my thanks to You that have granted approval for my deeds O my Master, for You do I desire You do I fear and to You do I look forward It is my hope that has driven me towards You To You, O my One and Only God, do I direct my determination And upon what You possess I unfold my desire And my ultimate hope and fear rest upon You And with You, I cheerfully contemplated Your adoration And I spread my hands wide open to You And with the rope of Your obedience I ease my fear O' my Lord! In Your remembrance, my heart flourished Only through my confidential conversations with You have I cooled the pains of my fear So, O' my Lord! And O' the One whom I hope! And O' the One who is the Ultimate Destination and Grantor of my request! Separate between me and this sin of mine that disables me from abiding by Your obedience For I only ask You due to the ancient and long resting of hope upon You as well as the great coveting of You in what You obliged yourself with from compassion and mercy Evidently, the command is yours, for You are the only One without partners	أَمْ بِغَايَةِ جُهْدِي [جَهْدِي ] فِي عَمَلِي أُرْضِيكَ وَ مَا قَدْرُ لِسَانِي يَا رَبِّ فِي جَنْبِ شُكْرِكَ وَ مَا قَدْرُ عَمَلِي فِي جَنْبِ نِعَمِكَ وَ إِحْسَانِكَ [إِلَيَ ] إِلَهِي إِنَّ [إِلا أَنَ ] جُودَكَ بَسَطَ أَمَلِي وَ شُكْرَكَ قَبِلَ عَمَلِي سَيِّدِي إِلَيْكَ رَغْبَتِي وَ إِلَيْكَ [مِنْكَ ] رَهْبَتِي وَ إِلَيْكَ تَأْمِيلِي وَ قَدْ سَاقَنِي إِلَيْكَ أَمَلِي وَ عَلَيْكَ [إِلَيْكَ ] يَا وَاحِدِي عَكَفَتْ [عَلِقَتْ ] هِمَّتِي وَ فِيمَا عِنْدَكَ انْبَسَطَتْ رَغْبَتِي وَ لَكَ خَالِصُ رَجَائِي وَ خَوْفِي وَ بِكَ أَنِسَتْ مَحَبَّتِي وَ إِلَيْكَ أَلْقَيْتُ بِيَدِي وَ بِحَبْلِ طَاعَتِكَ مَدَدْتُ رَهْبَتِي [يَا] مَوْلايَ بِذِكْرِكَ عَاشَ قَلْبِي وَ بِمُنَاجَاتِكَ بَرَّدْتُ أَلَمَ الْخَوْفِ عَنِّي فَيَا مَوْلايَ وَ يَا مُؤَمَّلِي وَ يَا مُنْتَهَى سُؤْلِي فَرِّقْ بَيْنِي وَ بَيْنَ ذَنْبِيَ الْمَانِعِ لِي مِنْ لُزُومِ طَاعَتِكَ فَإِنَّمَا أَسْأَلُكَ لِقَدِيمِ الرَّجَاءِ فِيكَ وَ عَظِيمِ الطَّمَعِ مِنْكَ الَّذِي أَوْجَبْتَهُ عَلَى نَفْسِكَ مِنَ الرَّأْفَةِ وَ الرَّحْمَةِ فَالْأَمْرُ لَكَ وَحْدَكَ لا شَرِيكَ لَكَ
and all creatures are in Your maintenance and within Your grip and everything submits to You blessed You are O' Lord and Cherisher of the worlds O' my Lord! Bestow Your mercy upon me when my excuses have failed and when my tongue has ceased to be able to answer to You (on judgment day) and my intellect has subsided upon Your questioning So O' to whom I submit my utmost hope, do not disappoint me when my tragedy has intensified and do not reject me due to my ignorance and conceit and do not deprive me (of Your mercy) due to my lack of patience and provide for me for I am poor and bestow Your mercy upon me for I am weak O' my Master! Upon You I rest my dependence, destination hope and reliance And to Your mercy I cling And on Your grounds, I conclude my journey And to Your generosity I direct my request And with Your generosity, O' Allah, I commence my prayer And with You I seek relief from my indigence And with Your wealth I mend my poverty And under the shadow of Your pardon, I stand And to Your generosity and benevolence, I raise my eyesight And to Your favor, I prolong my vision	وَ الْخَلْقُ كُلُّهُمْ عِيَالُكَ وَ فِي قَبْضَتِكَ وَ كُلُّ شَيْ ءٍ خَاضِعٌ لَكَ تَبَارَكْتَ يَا رَبَّ الْعَالَمِينَ إِلَهِي ارْحَمْنِي إِذَا انْقَطَعَتْ حُجَّتِي وَ كَلَّ عَنْ جَوَابِكَ لِسَانِي وَ طَاشَ عِنْدَ سُؤَالِكَ إِيَّايَ لُبِّي فَيَا عَظِيمَ رَجَائِي لا تُخَيِّبْنِي إِذَا اشْتَدَّتْ فَاقَتِي وَ لا تَرُدَّنِي لِجَهْلِي وَ لا تَمْنَعْنِي لِقِلَّةِ صَبْرِي أَعْطِنِي لِفَقْرِي وَ ارْحَمْنِي لِضَعْفِي سَيِّدِي عَلَيْكَ مُعْتَمَدِي وَ مُعَوَّلِي وَ رَجَائِي وَ تَوَكُّلِي وَ بِرَحْمَتِكَ تَعَلُّقِي وَ بِفِنَائِكَ أَحُطُّ رَحْلِي وَ بِجُودِكَ أَقْصِدُ [أَقْصُرُ] طَلِبَتِي وَ بِكَرَمِكَ أَيْ رَبِّ أَسْتَفْتِحُ دُعَائِي وَ لَدَيْكَ أَرْجُو فَاقَتِي [ضِيَافَتِي ] وَ بِغِنَاكَ أَجْبُرُ عَيْلَتِي وَ تَحْتَ ظِلِّ عَفْوِكَ قِيَامِي وَ إِلَى جُودِكَ وَ كَرَمِكَ أَرْفَعُ بَصَرِي وَ إِلَى مَعْرُوفِكَ أُدِيمُ نَظَرِي
So, burn me not in the hell fire because You are where I place my hope And, reside me not in the bottomless pit (hell) for You are indeed the comfort of my eye O' my Master! Disappoint not my expectation in Your benevolence and known favor because You are my Confidant and Security And do not deprive me of Your reward for You are Aware of my poverty O' my Lord! If the end of my life has neared and my deeds did not bring me near You then I hereby render my admission of sin as my justification ,. O' my Lord! If You pardon (me), then no one is more worthy of pardoning than You And if You punish (me), then no one is more just than You in judgment (O' Lord) have mercy toward my expatriation in this life and my tragedy upon death and my solitude in the grave and my loneliness in the grave and because whenever I am dispatched for judgment before Your hands, my situation is humiliated and forgive what is concealed from the humans of my (secretive bad) deeds	فَلا تُحْرِقْنِي بِالنَّارِ وَ أَنْتَ مَوْضِعُ أَمَلِي وَ لا تُسْكِنِّي الْهَاوِيَةَ فَإِنَّكَ قُرَّةُ عَيْنِي يَا سَيِّدِي لا تُكَذِّبْ ظَنِّي بِإِحْسَانِكَ وَ مَعْرُوفِكَ فَإِنَّكَ ثِقَتِي وَ لا تَحْرِمْنِي ثَوَابَكَ فَإِنَّكَ الْعَارِفُ بِفَقْرِي إِلَهِي إِنْ كَانَ قَدْ دَنَا أَجَلِي وَ لَمْ يُقَرِّبْنِي مِنْكَ عَمَلِي فَقَدْ جَعَلْتُ الاعْتِرَافَ إِلَيْكَ بِذَنْبِي وَسَائِلَ عِلَلِي إِلَهِي إِنْ عَفَوْتَ فَمَنْ أَوْلَى مِنْكَ بِالْعَفْوِ وَ إِنْ عَذَّبْتَ فَمَنْ أَعْدَلُ مِنْكَ فِي الْحُكْمِ ارْحَمْ فِي هَذِهِ الدُّنْيَا غُرْبَتِي وَ عِنْدَ الْمَوْتِ كُرْبَتِي وَ فِي الْقَبْرِ وَحْدَتِي وَ فِي اللَّحْدِ وَحْشَتِي وَ إِذَا نُشِرْتُ لِلْحِسَابِ بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ ذُلَّ مَوْقِفِي وَ اغْفِرْ لِي مَا خَفِيَ عَلَى الْآدَمِيِّينَ مِنْ عَمَلِي
and prolong for me what You veiled my (secret sins) with and confer Your benevolence on me when I am (laying) motionless on the (death) bed so that the beloved of my relatives surround me and grant me Your bountifulness when I am stretched on the funeral bath so that the good-deeded of my community may wash me and bestow Your kindred tenderness upon me when I am carried while my relatives hand over the extremities of my coffin and award me Your generosity when I am transported and finally delivered and left alone in my grave and have mercy on my solitary confinement in this new residence so that I may not be comforted by anyone but You O' my Master! If You entrusted me (with my affairs), I would perish	وَ أَدِمْ لِي مَا بِهِ سَتَرْتَنِي وَ ارْحَمْنِي صَرِيعا عَلَى الْفِرَاشِ تُقَلِّبُنِي أَيْدِي أَحِبَّتِي وَ تَفَضَّلْ عَلَيَّ مَمْدُودا عَلَى الْمُغْتَسَلِ يُقَلِّبُنِي [يُغَسِّلُنِي ] صَالِحُ جِيرَتِي وَ تَحَنَّنْ عَلَيَّ مَحْمُولاً قَدْ تَنَاوَلَ الْأَقْرِبَاءُ أَطْرَافَ جَنَازَتِي وَ جُدْ عَلَيَّ مَنْقُولاً قَدْ نَزَلْتُ بِكَ وَحِيداً فِي حُفْرَتِي وَ ارْحَمْ فِي ذَلِكَ الْبَيْتِ الْجَدِيدِ غُرْبَتِي حَتَّى لا أَسْتَأْنِسَ بِغَيْرِكَ يَا سَيِّدِي إِنْ وَكَلْتَنِي إِلَى نَفْسِي هَلَكْتُ
My Master then whom do I seek rescue with if You would not avert my stumble To whom would I seek shelter with if I lost Your kindred care in my dormancy To whom would I resort to if You did not relieve my destitution My Master! Who will be on my side and who will bestow mercy on me if You do not? And whose bounties would I anticipate if I lacked Your grants on the day of my destitution (judgment day)? And to where shall I run away from my sins when my fate is concluded? My Master! Punish me not while I am pleading to You! O' my Lord! Fulfill my desire and secure my fright because I can not avert (the result of) my numerous sins except with Your pardon My Master! I am asking You for what I do not deserve but You are the Lord of righteousness and the Lord of forgiveness So, forgive for me and veil me from Your sight with a cloak that masks all my liabilities thus forgiving me so that I may never be reclaimed with it Indeed, You are the possessor of ancient favor great pardon and generous forgiveness	سَيِّدِي فَبِمَنْ أَسْتَغِيثُ إِنْ لَمْ تُقِلْنِي عَثْرَتِي فَإِلَى مَنْ أَفْزَعُ إِنْ فَقَدْتُ عِنَايَتَكَ فِي ضَجْعَتِي وَ إِلَى مَنْ أَلْتَجِئُ إِنْ لَمْ تُنَفِّسْ كُرْبَتِي سَيِّدِي مَنْ لِي وَ مَنْ يَرْحَمُنِي إِنْ لَمْ تَرْحَمْنِي وَ فَضْلَ مَنْ أُؤَمِّلُ إِنْ عَدِمْتُ فَضْلَكَ يَوْمَ فَاقَتِي وَ إِلَى مَنِ الْفِرَارُ مِنَ الذُّنُوبِ إِذَا انْقَضَى أَجَلِي سَيِّدِي لا تُعَذِّبْنِي وَ أَنَا أَرْجُوكَ إِلَهِي [اللَّهُمَ ] حَقِّقْ رَجَائِي وَ آمِنْ خَوْفِي فَإِنَّ كَثْرَةَ ذُنُوبِي لا أَرْجُو فِيهَا [لَهَا] إِلا عَفْوَكَ سَيِّدِي أَنَا أَسْأَلُكَ مَا لا أَسْتَحِقُّ وَ أَنْتَ أَهْلُ التَّقْوَى وَ أَهْلُ الْمَغْفِرَةِ فَاغْفِرْ لِي وَ أَلْبِسْنِي مِنْ نَظَرِكَ ثَوْبا يُغَطِّي عَلَيَّ التَّبِعَاتِ وَ تَغْفِرُهَا لِي وَ لا أُطَالَبُ بِهَا إِنَّكَ ذُو مَنٍّ قَدِيمٍ وَ صَفْحٍ عَظِيمٍ وَ تَجَاوُزٍ كَرِيمٍ.
O' my Lord! You are the One who overflows the streams (of favors) on those who do not even implore You and on those who rejected Your divinity So how would You not, O' Master, grant the same to the one who implored You and submitted with certainty that the creation is yours and the command is to You? Praised and glorified You are, O' Lord and Cherisher of the worlds O' my Master! Your slave is at Your doorstep. His desperate need has rooted him before Your hands He knocks on the gate of Your generosity with his prayer and he solicits Your gracious consideration (in relieving his dilemma) through his hearty anticipation (in You) So please do not turn Your honorable face away from me and accept from me what I plead for For I have pleaded with this prayer and I am hopeful that You would not turn me down, since I have always known of Your benevolence and mercy O' my Lord! You are the one who is never burdened by the pleas of the beseecher nor are You ever encumbered in rewarding (Your) grantee Verily, You are how You describe Yourself and above what we describe	إِلَهِي أَنْتَ الَّذِي تُفِيضُ سَيْبَكَ عَلَى مَنْ لا يَسْأَلُكَ وَ عَلَى الْجَاحِدِينَ بِرُبُوبِيَّتِكَ فَكَيْفَ سَيِّدِي بِمَنْ سَأَلَكَ وَ أَيْقَنَ أَنَّ الْخَلْقَ لَكَ وَ الْأَمْرَ إِلَيْكَ تَبَارَكْتَ وَ تَعَالَيْتَ يَا رَبَّ الْعَالَمِينَ سَيِّدِي عَبْدُكَ بِبَابِكَ أَقَامَتْهُ الْخَصَاصَةُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ يَقْرَعُ بَابَ إِحْسَانِكَ بِدُعَائِهِ [وَ يَسْتَعْطِفُ جَمِيلَ نَظَرِكَ بِمَكْنُونِ رَجَائِكَ ] فَلا تُعْرِضْ بِوَجْهِكَ الْكَرِيمِ عَنِّي وَ اقْبَلْ مِنِّي مَا أَقُولُ فَقَدْ دَعَوْتُ [دَعْوَتُكَ ] بِهَذَا الدُّعَاءِ وَ أَنَا أَرْجُو أَنْ لا تَرُدَّنِي مَعْرِفَةً مِنِّي بِرَأْفَتِكَ وَ رَحْمَتِكَ إِلَهِي أَنْتَ الَّذِي لا يُحْفِيكَ سَائِلٌ وَ لا يَنْقُصُكَ نَائِلٌ أَنْتَ كَمَا تَقُولُ وَ فَوْقَ مَا نَقُولُ.
O' my Lord! I ask You (to grant me) a rewarding patience a neighboring relief a true affirmation and a great reward I ask You, O' my Lord, for all the good whether I know of it or not I ask You, O' my Lord, for the best of what have asked You Your righteous believers O' the Foremost of whom was ever asked! and the Most Generous that has ever given Fulfill my quest in myself, my family parents, children proximate community, and my brothers (and sisters) in You And enrich my living and ascend my bravery and improve all of my affairs And cause me to be a (person) whom You have destined to have prolonged his life and improved his deeds and consummated Your gifts upon him and accepted his performance and made live a good life in permanent joy utmost integrity, and complete living	اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ صَبْراً جَمِيلاً وَ فَرَجاً قَرِيباً وَ قَوْلاً صَادِقاً وَ أَجْراً عَظِيماً أَسْأَلُكَ يَا رَبِّ مِنَ الْخَيْرِ كُلِّهِ مَا عَلِمْتُ مِنْهُ وَ مَا لَمْ أَعْلَمْ أَسْأَلُكَ اللَّهُمَّ مِنْ خَيْرِ مَا سَأَلَكَ مِنْهُ عِبَادُكَ الصَّالِحُونَ يَا خَيْرَ مَنْ سُئِلَ وَ أَجْوَدَ مَنْ أَعْطَى أَعْطِنِي سُؤْلِي فِي نَفْسِي وَ أَهْلِي وَ وَالِدَيَّ وَ وُلْدِي [وَلَدِي ] وَ أَهْلِ حُزَانَتِي وَ إِخْوَانِي فِيكَ [وَ] أَرْغِدْ عَيْشِي وَ أَظْهِرْ مُرُوَّتِي وَ أَصْلِحْ جَمِيعَ أَحْوَالِي وَ اجْعَلْنِي مِمَّنْ أَطَلْتَ عُمُرَهُ وَ حَسَّنْتَ عَمَلَهُ وَ أَتْمَمْتَ عَلَيْهِ نِعْمَتَكَ وَ رَضِيتَ عَنْهُ وَ أَحْيَيْتَهُ حَيَاةً طَيِّبَةً فِي أَدْوَمِ السُّرُورِ وَ أَسْبَغِ الْكَرَامَةِ وَ أَتَمِّ الْعَيْشِ
Indeed, You do as You please and not as others please. O' Lord! Distinguish me with Your distinctive remembrance And do not allow any of what I seek closeness to You with (of good deeds) in the midst of nights or the extremes of days to be an object of pretension, seeking of reputation arrogance, or extravagance And cause me to be of those who humble themselves to You O' my Lord! Award me vastness in sustenance And security in my homeland And the comfort of the eye in family, finances and offspring And the continued enjoyment of Your bounties And health and strength in the body And safeguard in faith And forever utilize me in (establishing) Your obedience and that of Prophet Muhammad peace of Allah upon him and his household as everlong as You advance my age And compel me to have the biggest share among Your worshipers in whatever good You ever caused to descend and especially what You award in the month of Ramadan in the Night of the Decree	إِنَّكَ تَفْعَلُ مَا تَشَاءُ وَ لا تَفْعَلُ [يَفْعَلُ ] مَا يَشَاءُ غَيْرُكَ اللَّهُمَّ خُصَّنِي مِنْكَ بِخَاصَّةِ ذِكْرِكَ وَ لا تَجْعَلْ شَيْئا مِمَّا أَتَقَرَّبُ بِهِ فِي آنَاءِ اللَّيْلِ وَ أَطْرَافِ النَّهَارِ رِيَاءً وَ لا سُمْعَةً وَ لا أَشَرا وَ لا بَطَرا وَ اجْعَلْنِي لَكَ مِنَ الْخَاشِعِينَ اللَّهُمَّ أَعْطِنِي السَّعَةَ فِي الرِّزْقِ وَ الْأَمْنَ فِي الْوَطَنِ وَ قُرَّةَ الْعَيْنِ فِي الْأَهْلِ وَ الْمَالِ وَ الْوَلَدِ وَ الْمُقَامَ فِي نِعَمِكَ عِنْدِي وَ الصِّحَّةَ فِي الْجِسْمِ وَ الْقُوَّةَ فِي الْبَدَنِ وَ السَّلامَةَ فِي الدِّينِ وَ اسْتَعْمِلْنِي بِطَاعَتِكَ وَ طَاعَةِ رَسُولِكَ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ أَبَدا مَا اسْتَعْمَرْتَنِي وَ اجْعَلْنِي مِنْ أَوْفَرِ عِبَادِكَ عِنْدَكَ نَصِيبا فِي كُلِّ خَيْرٍ أَنْزَلْتَهُ وَ تُنْزِلُهُ فِي شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ فِي لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ
and what You are awarding every year from mercy that You dispense and good health that You harness and crises that You deter and good deeds that You accept and bless and sins that You acquit And allot me with the ability to conduct pilgrimage to Your holy house in this year and every year thereafter And grant me vast sustenance from Your vast bounties And protect me, O' my Master, from encountering the misfortunes (of life) And fulfill on my behalf all my borrowing and satisfy any injustice (I committed to others) so that I may not be harmed by any of it And preoccupy the hearing and sight of my enemies and the jealous and those who oppress me and award me victory over them And comfort my eye, And delight my heart	وَ مَا أَنْتَ مُنْزِلُهُ فِي كُلِّ سَنَةٍ مِنْ رَحْمَةٍ تَنْشُرُهَا وَ عَافِيَةٍ تُلْبِسُهَا وَ بَلِيَّةٍ تَدْفَعُهَا وَ حَسَنَاتٍ تَتَقَبَّلُهَا وَ سَيِّئَاتٍ تَتَجَاوَزُ عَنْهَا وَ ارْزُقْنِي حَجَّ بَيْتِكَ الْحَرَامِ فِي عَامِنَا [عَامِي ] هَذَا وَ فِي كُلِّ عَامٍ وَ ارْزُقْنِي رِزْقاً وَاسِعاً مِنْ فَضْلِكَ الْوَاسِعِ وَ اصْرِفْ عَنِّي يَا سَيِّدِي الْأَسْوَاءَ وَ اقْضِ عَنِّي الدَّيْنَ وَ الظُّلامَاتِ حَتَّى لا أَتَأَذَّى بِشَيْ ءٍ مِنْهُ وَ خُذْ عَنِّي بِأَسْمَاعِ وَ أَبْصَارِ أَعْدَائِي وَ حُسَّادِي وَ الْبَاغِينَ عَلَيَّ وَ انْصُرْنِي عَلَيْهِمْ وَ أَقِرَّ عَيْنِي [وَ حَقِّقْ ظَنِّي ] وَ فَرِّحْ قَلْبِي
And award me relief and resolution in all of my misfortunes and extremities And compel any one who wishes me harm from all Your creatures, to be beneath my feet And guard me from the evil of Satan and the evil of the monarch as well as the evil brought about by my wrong doings And cleanse me from all sins And salvage me from the hell fire with Your (divine) pardon And award me paradise with Your mercy And marry me to the companions with the beautiful, big and lustrous eyes with Your bountifulness And reunite me with Your righteous servants Muhammad and his household, the righteous the virtuous, the pure and the elite Your peace, mercy and blessings be upon them, their bodies, and their souls O' my Lord and my Master! I swear with Your exalted might and majesty that if You reclaim my sins, I will call upon Your mercy and if You reclaim my meanness, I will call upon Your generosity	وَ اجْعَلْ لِي مِنْ هَمِّي وَ كَرْبِي فَرَجاً وَ مَخْرَجاً وَ اجْعَلْ مَنْ أَرَادَنِي بِسُوءٍ مِنْ جَمِيعِ خَلْقِكَ تَحْتَ قَدَمَيَّ وَ اكْفِنِي شَرَّ الشَّيْطَانِ وَ شَرَّ السُّلْطَانِ وَ سَيِّئَاتِ عَمَلِي وَ طَهِّرْنِي مِنَ الذُّنُوبِ كُلِّهَا وَ أَجِرْنِي مِنَ النَّارِ بِعَفْوِكَ وَ أَدْخِلْنِي الْجَنَّةَ بِرَحْمَتِكَ وَ زَوِّجْنِي مِنَ الْحُورِ الْعِينِ بِفَضْلِكَ وَ أَلْحِقْنِي بِأَوْلِيَائِكَ الصَّالِحِينَ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ الْأَبْرَارِ الطَّيِّبِينَ الطَّاهِرِينَ الْأَخْيَارِ صَلَوَاتُكَ عَلَيْهِمْ وَ عَلَى أَجْسَادِهِمْ وَ أَرْوَاحِهِمْ وَ رَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَ بَرَكَاتُهُ إِلَهِي وَ سَيِّدِي وَ عِزَّتِكَ وَ جَلالِكَ لَئِنْ طَالَبْتَنِي بِذُنُوبِي لَأُطَالِبَنَّكَ بِعَفْوِكَ وَ لَئِنْ طَالَبْتَنِي بِلُؤْمِي لَأُطَالِبَنَّكَ بِكَرَمِكَ
and if You forward me to the hell fire, I will inform its inmates about my adoration of You O' my Lord and my Master! If You were to not forgive but Your devotees and constant obeyers then to whom would the sinners resort to? And if You were to not honor but the people of loyalty to You then to whom the offenders would resort to? O' my Lord! If You cause me to enter the hell fire, it will be to the pleasure of Your enemy But if You cause me to enter paradise, it will be to the pleasure of Your Prophet And verily, Oh Allah, I know that the pleasure of Your Prophet is more favorable to You than the pleasure of Your enemy	وَ لَئِنْ أَدْخَلْتَنِي النَّارَ لَأُخْبِرَنَّ أَهْلَ النَّارِ بِحُبِّي لَكَ إِلَهِي وَ سَيِّدِي إِنْ كُنْتَ لا تَغْفِرُ إِلّا لِأَوْلِيَائِكَ وَ أَهْلِ طَاعَتِكَ فَإِلَى مَنْ يَفْزَعُ الْمُذْنِبُونَ وَ إِنْ كُنْتَ لا تُكْرِمُ إِلّا أَهْلَ الْوَفَاءِ بِكَ فَبِمَنْ يَسْتَغِيثُ الْمُسِيئُونَ إِلَهِي إِنْ أَدْخَلْتَنِي النَّارَ فَفِي ذَلِكَ سُرُورُ عَدُوِّكَ وَ إِنْ أَدْخَلْتَنِي الْجَنَّةَ فَفِي ذَلِكَ سُرُورُ نَبِيِّكَ وَ أَنَا وَ اللَّهِ أَعْلَمُ أَنَّ سُرُورَ نَبِيِّكَ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْكَ مِنْ سُرُورِ عَدُوِّكَ
O'my Lord! I ask You to saturate my heart with Your love fearing and observing You believing in Your (holy) book faith in You fright from You and longing for You O' the one who is full of majesty, bounty and honor! Render me loving of Your meeting and love my meeting And grant me in meeting You comfort, happiness and honor O' my Lord! Unite me with the virtuous of those who preceded me And render me to be among the virtuous of who remained, And lead me to the way of the virtuous And aid me in restraining myself (from sin) with whatever You aid Your righteous believers with And culminate my deeds with their best And make my reward from it heaven with Your mercy And assist me in implementing the virtues that You granted me And anchor me (on the right path) O' Lord! And return me not to an error You rescued me from before O' the Lord and Cherisher of the worlds!	اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ أَنْ تَمْلَأَ قَلْبِي حُبّاً لَكَ وَ خَشْيَةً مِنْكَ وَ تَصْدِيقاً بِكِتَابِكَ وَ إِيمَاناً بِكَ وَ فَرَقاً مِنْكَ وَ شَوْقاً إِلَيْكَ يَا ذَا الْجَلالِ وَ الْإِكْرَامِ حَبِّبْ إِلَيَّ لِقَاءَكَ وَ أَحْبِبْ لِقَائِي وَ اجْعَلْ لِي فِي لِقَائِكَ الرَّاحَةَ وَ الْفَرَجَ وَ الْكَرَامَةَ اللَّهُمَّ أَلْحِقْنِي بِصَالِحِ مَنْ مَضَى وَ اجْعَلْنِي مِنْ صَالِحِ مَنْ بَقِيَ وَ خُذْ بِي سَبِيلَ الصَّالِحِينَ وَ أَعِنِّي عَلَى نَفْسِي بِمَا تُعِينُ بِهِ الصَّالِحِينَ عَلَى أَنْفُسِهِمْ وَ اخْتِمْ عَمَلِي بِأَحْسَنِهِ وَ اجْعَلْ ثَوَابِي مِنْهُ الْجَنَّةَ بِرَحْمَتِكَ وَ أَعِنِّي عَلَى صَالِحِ مَا أَعْطَيْتَنِي وَ ثَبِّتْنِي يَا رَبِّ وَ لا تَرُدَّنِي فِي سُوءٍ اسْتَنْقَذْتَنِي مِنْهُ يَا رَبَّ الْعَالَمِينَ .
O Allah, I beseech You for faith that does not stop until I meet You Prolong my life as long as You maintain me on it and claim my soul as long as You claim my soul while it is on it (faith) and resurrect me as long as You resurrect me on it And purify my heart from pretension, doubt, and seeking reputation through Your religion so that all my deeds would be solely intended for You O' my Lord! Award me insight in Your religion And understanding in Your judgment And awareness in Your knowledge And surety in Your mercy And piety that impedes me from disobeying You And brighten my face with Your light Make me desire for nothing but that which You hold And claim my soul on Your path and on the religion of Your Prophet Peace of Allah upon him and his household	اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ إِيمَاناً لا أَجَلَ لَهُ دُونَ لِقَائِكَ أَحْيِنِي مَا أَحْيَيْتَنِي عَلَيْهِ وَ تَوَفَّنِي إِذَا تَوَفَّيْتَنِي عَلَيْهِ وَ ابْعَثْنِي إِذَا بَعَثْتَنِي عَلَيْهِ وَ أَبْرِئْ قَلْبِي مِنَ الرِّيَاءِ وَ الشَّكِّ وَ السُّمْعَةِ فِي دِينِكَ حَتَّى يَكُونَ عَمَلِي خَالِصاً لَكَ اللَّهُمَّ أَعْطِنِي بَصِيرَةً فِي دِينِكَ وَ فَهْماً فِي حُكْمِكَ وَ فِقْهاً فِي عِلْمِكَ وَ كِفْلَيْنِ مِنْ رَحْمَتِكَ وَ وَرَعاً يَحْجُزُنِي عَنْ مَعَاصِيكَ وَ بَيِّضْ وَجْهِي بِنُورِكَ وَ اجْعَلْ رَغْبَتِي فِيمَا عِنْدَكَ وَ تَوَفَّنِي فِي سَبِيلِكَ وَ عَلَى مِلَّةِ رَسُولِكَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ .
O' my Lord! I seek refuge with You from laziness, failure misery, cowardliness, stinginess inattentiveness, brutality, poverty neediness, destitution indigence and every calamity; and the exorbitant of sins whether they are apparent or concealed And I seek refuge in You from a self that is never content and a stomach that is never satisfied fearless heart and a prayer that is not accepted And a futile deed And I depend upon You O' Lord, to safeguard my self, my religion, my finances and all of what You awarded me, from the evil of the cursed Satan Indeed, You are the One who hears and knows all things	اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْكَسَلِ وَ الْفَشَلِ وَ الْهَمِّ وَ الْجُبْنِ وَ الْبُخْلِ وَ الْغَفْلَةِ وَ الْقَسْوَةِ [وَ الذِّلَّةِ] وَ الْمَسْكَنَةِ وَ الْفَقْرِ وَ الْفَاقَةِ وَ كُلِّ بَلِيَّةٍ وَ الْفَوَاحِشِ مَا ظَهَرَ مِنْهَا وَ مَا بَطَنَ وَ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ نَفْسٍ لا تَقْنَعُ وَ بَطْنٍ لا يَشْبَعُ وَ قَلْبٍ لا يَخْشَعُ وَ دُعَاءٍ لا يُسْمَعُ وَ عَمَلٍ لا يَنْفَعُ وَ أَعُوذُ بِكَ يَا رَبِّ عَلَى نَفْسِي وَ دِينِي وَ مَالِي وَ عَلَى جَمِيعِ مَا رَزَقْتَنِي مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ .
O' my Lord! Indeed no one can shield me from Your (punishment) and I can not find before You any other shelter So leave not in me any deed worthy of Your punishment do not let me lead myself to perdition and do not make me deserve the painful chastisement O Allah, accept from me grant me reputation elevate my rank exonerate my offenses do not refer to me with my faults let the reward of my sessions my utterances and my prayer be Your pleasure and Paradise And award me, O' Lord, all of what I have asked from You and increase it with Your bountifulness for I seek none but You, O Lord of the worlds!	اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّهُ لا يُجِيرُنِي مِنْكَ أَحَدٌ وَ لا أَجِدُ مِنْ دُونِكَ مُلْتَحَداً فَلا تَجْعَلْ نَفْسِي فِي شَيْ ءٍ مِنْ عَذَابِكَ وَ لا تَرُدَّنِي بِهَلَكَةٍ وَ لا تَرُدَّنِي بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ اللَّهُمَّ تَقَبَّلْ مِنِّي وَ أَعْلِ [كَعْبِي وَ] ذِكْرِي وَ ارْفَعْ دَرَجَتِي وَ حُطَّ وِزْرِي وَ لا تَذْكُرْنِي بِخَطِيئَتِي وَ اجْعَلْ ثَوَابَ مَجْلِسِي وَ ثَوَابَ مَنْطِقِي وَ ثَوَابَ دُعَائِي رِضَاكَ وَ الْجَنَّةَ وَ أَعْطِنِي يَا رَبِّ جَمِيعَ مَا سَأَلْتُكَ وَ زِدْنِي مِنْ فَضْلِكَ إِنِّي إِلَيْكَ رَاغِبٌ يَا رَبَّ الْعَالَمِينَ،
O Allah, You have ordered us in Your book that we should overlook those who wrong us and we have wronged ourselves (by sinning) so pardon our conduct, for You are more worthy of pardoning than we are And You commanded us not turn away the needy who knock on our doors and I hereby come to You needy, so turn me not away until You fulfill my need You have ordered us to act nicely to those under our authorities and You hold authority over us, so liberate our necks from the hell fire O' the Shelter I seek whenever I am in misfortune! O my Aid whenever hardships hit me! To You have I resorted With You have I sought refuge and haven To none save You shall I ever resort From none save You shall I ever seek for relief So come to my aid, and relieve me O' One who liberates the captives, accepts the little (of good deeds), and pardons the numerous (of sin) accept from me the little (good) I have done, and forgive for me the numerous (sins I have committed) Indeed, You are the Most Merciful and Oft-forgiving O Allah, I pray You for faith that covers my heart and for honest conviction so that I will believe that nothing will inflict me save that about which You have already known Make me be satisfied with my livelihood that You have decided for me O most Merciful of all those who show mercy!	اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ أَنْزَلْتَ فِي كِتَابِكَ [الْعَفْوَ وَ أَمَرْتَنَا] أَنْ نَعْفُوَ عَمَّنْ ظَلَمَنَا وَ قَدْ ظَلَمْنَا أَنْفُسَنَا فَاعْفُ عَنَّا فَإِنَّكَ أَوْلَى بِذَلِكَ مِنَّا وَ أَمَرْتَنَا أَنْ لا نَرُدَّ سَائِلاً عَنْ أَبْوَابِنَا وَ قَدْ جِئْتُكَ سَائِلا فَلا تَرُدَّنِي إِلّا بِقَضَاءِ حَاجَتِي وَ أَمَرْتَنَا بِالْإِحْسَانِ إِلَى مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَانُنَا وَ نَحْنُ أَرِقَّاؤُكَ فَأَعْتِقْ رِقَابَنَا مِنَ النَّارِ يَا مَفْزَعِي عِنْدَ كُرْبَتِي وَ يَا غَوْثِي عِنْدَ شِدَّتِي إِلَيْكَ فَزِعْتُ وَ بِكَ اسْتَغَثْتُ وَ لُذْتُ لا أَلُوذُ بِسِوَاكَ وَ لا أَطْلُبُ الْفَرَجَ إِلّا مِنْكَ فَأَغِثْنِي وَ فَرِّجْ عَنِّي يَا مَنْ يَفُكُّ الْأَسِيرَ [يَقْبَلُ الْيَسِيرَ] وَ يَعْفُو عَنِ الْكَثِيرِ اقْبَلْ مِنِّي الْيَسِيرَ وَ اعْفُ عَنِّي الْكَثِيرَ إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الرَّحِيمُ الْغَفُورُ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ إِيمَانا تُبَاشِرُ بِهِ قَلْبِي وَ يَقِينا [صَادِقا] حَتَّى أَعْلَمَ أَنَّهُ لَنْ يُصِيبَنِي إِلّا مَا كَتَبْتَ لِي وَ رَضِّنِي مِنَ الْعَيْشِ بِمَا قَسَمْتَ لِي يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ.
