Hakim (disambiguation)

The al-Hakim family is a prominent family of Shi'a Islam scholars from Najaf, Iraq. The most prominent person of this family is Sayyid Muhsin al-Hakim, a Shia Marja.

Hakim may refer to the following figures:

• Sayyid Muhsin al-Hakim (d. 1390/1970) was a Shiite authority in the fourteenth/twentieth century from Iraq who lived in Najaf.
• Sayyid Muhammad Mahdi al-Hakim (d. 1988) a Shia scholar, and the third son of Sayyid Muhsin al-Hakim. He was a co-founder of Islamic al-Da'wa Party.
• Sayyid Muhammad Taqi al-Hakim (d. 2002) a teacher of Najaf seminary. He became the head of the faculty of fiqh in Najaf after Shaykh Muhammad Rida Muzaffar.
• Sayyid Muhammad Baqir al-Hakim (d. 2003) was a Shiite scholar in Iraq. He was the head, and a founder, of Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq.
• Sayyid Abd al-Aziz al-Hakim (d. 2009) a Shia cleric, politician and son of Sayyid Muhsin al-Hakim and one of the oppositions against the al-Ba'ath Party in Iraq.
• Sayyid Muhammad Sa'id al-Hakim (d. September 3, 2021) was a Shiite marja' in Iraq. He was the grandson of Sayyid Muhsin al-Hakim, a Shiite marja' in the fourteenth/twentieth century.

• Hakim: from the names of Almighty God. "Hakim ala al-Itlaq" (absolute Sage) is also a term used for God.
• Hakim: a person with wisdom.
• Hakim: a title for some philosophers and mystics (such as Hakim Mulla Hadi Sabziwari), writers and poets (such as Hakim Abu l-Qasim Ferdowsi) and traditional physicians like (Tabib, Hakimbashi)
