- Abu Ja'far Isfahani Karani (d. 310/922) known as Ahmad b. Alawiya, writer, poet and Shia Muhaddith, the author of the ode "Nuniyya" about the event of Ghadir Khum
- Abu l-Faraj al-Isfahani (d. 357/968), the author of the Maqatil al-talibiyyin and al-Aghani.
- As'ad b. 'Abd al-Qahir (d. after 635/1235) Imami scholar and writer, teacher of Nasir al-Din al-Tusi.
- Sayyid Muhammad Musawi Isfahani known as Mirluhi, Shi'a scholar in in 11th/17th century.
- Muhammad Zaman b. Kalb'ali Isfahani (d. 1131/1739-1137/1735) a Shia scholar and jurist and the author of the Fara'd al-'usul dar ahwal madari wa masajid.
