Isra International Foundation for Revealed Sciences

Isrāʾ International Foundation for Revealed Sciences (Persian: بنیاد بین‌المللی علوم وحیانی اسراء) is a scientific and cultural institution established in 1993 in Qom under the supervision of Abd Allah Jawadi Amuli, a Shi'a Marja'. This foundation was formed as one of the seminary centers in Iran with the aim of promoting and researching revealed sciences, especially Qur'anic Exegesis, Islamic Philosophy, and the teachings of the Ahl al-Bayt (a). The Isra' International Foundation includes a research institute, a cultural center, a publishing house, and the Isra World Organization for Higher Education. Utilizing the scientific capacities of the seminary and the university, the foundation operates to strengthen the epistemic discourse of the Islamic Revolution of Iran and respond to contemporary intellectual needs.

History and Establishment

The Isra' Foundation was established in 1993 by Abd Allah Jawadi Amuli and has expanded its activities as an educational and research institution in the field of Islamic sciences. The foundation was formed with the aim of producing and compiling the works of Ayatoolah Jawadi Amuli and translating them into various languages.[1]

Objectives and Missions

According to its statutes, the Isra Foundation pursues the following goals with the mission of expanding revealed sciences:

  • Explaining, promoting, and deepening Islamic sciences in various fields;
  • Educating and training researchers, as well as creative and innovative instructors;
  • Stabilizing and consolidating theoretical foundations, scientifically strengthening the theoretical bases of Islamic government, and defending transcendent pure Islamic thoughts.[2]

Pillars and Affiliated Institutions

The structure of the Isra' International Foundation for Revealed Sciences includes scientific, cultural, educational, and executive sections. The institutions affiliated with the Isra' Foundation are:

Ma'arij Research Institute for Revealed Sciences: The goal of this institute is to introduce the intellectual system of 'Abd Allah Jawadi Amuli, his scientific works, and to communicate with domestic and foreign thinkers, as well as providing research services to the country's scientific and academic community.

Isra' World Organization for Higher Education: This organization was launched to train scholars in various fields for theorizing, teaching, and promoting Islamic teachings.

Isra' Publishing Center: The Isra' International Publishing Center was created in 1993 to produce the works of 'Abd Allah Jawadi Amuli and distribute them to various parts of the world.

Isra' International Center for Translation and Publication: This center was formed to produce the works of 'Abd Allah Jawadi Amuli in different languages.

Isra'Information Base: It provides news, lessons, and scientific works in written, audio, and visual formats.[3]

Key Works

Some of the most important works published by the Isra' Foundation include:

  • Tafsir Tasnim (80 volumes): a rational and comprehensive exegesis of the Qur'an.
  • Rahiq-i makhtum (35 volumes): Explanation and analysis of philosophical discussions with the approach of Transcendental Wisdom (Hikma al-Muta'aliya).
  • Adab-i fanay-i muqarraban (12 volumes): A commentary on Ziyarat al-Jami'a al-Kabira of Imam al-Hadi (a), describing the distinguished characteristics and stations of the Shi'a Imams (a).
  • Qur'sn dar Qur'sn (The Qur'an in the Qur'an): Thematic exegesis of Quranic concepts such as Tawhid (Monotheism), Nubuwwa (Prophethood), and Ma'ad (Resurrection).
  • Sirat-i payambaran dar Qur'an (The Biography of Prophets in the Qur'an) (2 volumes): Examination of the biography of prophets based on Quranic verses.
  • Journals of Isra' Foundation: "Hikamt-i Isra' Quarterly", "Akhlaq-i Wahyani" (Revealed Ethics), "'Ulum-i Qur'an wa Tafsir-i Ma'arij" (Quranic Sciences and Exegesis of Ma'arij).

Marqum Software: One of the important software products of the Isra' International Foundation is "Marqum". This collection includes 229 volumes of books on the subjects of exegesis of the Qur'an, fiqh (Jurisprudence) and usul al-fiqh (Principles of Jurisprudence), Intellectual Sciences, family and women, Islamic government, and social discussions published by the Isra' Publishing Center.[4]
