Ruqayya’s mother –Sahba’ bint Rabi’at al-Taghlibiyya- was a female servant of Imam Ali (a). Ruqayya married her cousin, [[Muslim b. ‘Aqil]]. She came with [[Imam Husayn]] (a) to [[Karbala]]. On her way to Karbala, she heard the news of the martyrdom of Muslim. Her son, [[‘Abd Allah b. Muslim]], was martyred in Karbala. It is said in the book [[Rayahin al-Shari’a]], that she had another son –Muhammad- and a daughter. According to the book [[Mu’jam al-Buldan]], Ruqayya was buried in [[Cairo]], [[Egypt]].
