Talk:Fadak
Dear translator/supervisor
In first paragraph, date trees is better to be replaced with "date palms" because date palms is the term used for this kind of tree.
In second paragraph, it is probably correct to replace "dry Hurra lands" with "al-Harra" dry lands according to an article that is found at the following link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al_Harrah,_Saudi_Arabia. "In the early Islam period" seems to be interchangeable with "In the early Islamic period". At the end of this paragraph this sentence "Jewish people were living there until the time of Umar b. Khattab, the second caliph, then he ordered them to ... " could have a more English tone if changed to "...the second caliph who ordered them to...".
At the end of third paragraph, instead of "unit of currency", they simply use "currency" and the term "unit" is redundant here.
In the paragraph "A gift from Lady Fatima (a)" in the first sentence "As Muslims did not attend in the conquest of Fadak", the verb "attend" does not require a preposition in this context so it was removed from the text. It can also be suggested to replace "attend" with "participate" which seems to be a better verb that has become like a collocation with "war". Elsewhere in this paragraph, a verse from Quran has been transliterated which is not required because English translation would have sufficed.
In this sentence "As Prophet Muhammad (s) and Ali b. Abi Talib (a) were the only persons who attended the conquest of Fadak, thus Prophet (s) was allowed to give Fadak to his daughter, Lady Fatima (s), as a gift." I think because there is "as" at the beginning there is no need to use "thus" in the second part. However, I was not sure and I did not make any changes to the text and I leave it to Mr. Fayazi to decide (as I leave all other cases to him as well).
In the section "Confiscation of Fadak", this sentence "After the event of Saqifa, Abu Bakr took over the caliphate, he seized Fadak as he regarded it as a state property" needs to be modified. It should be either "After the event of Saqifa, Abu Bakr took over the caliphate and seized Fadak as he regarded it as a ..." or "After the event of Saqifa, where Abu Bakr took over the caliphate, he seized Fadak as he regarded...". The former case seems to be a better option. As a general rule, "ibn" is written as "b." if it is in the middle of a name and "bint" is written as "bt." .But in some names that contain Ibn at their beginning such as Ibn Miskawayh then it is written as "Ibn". Thank you for the good work you have done.
