Baitul Ilm Academy is a Shia center in the state of Illinois, United States. Established in 1423-4/2003, it is located in the western suburbs of Chicago. More than two hundred Shia families from Southeast Asia, East Africa and the United States attend this center to perform their religious rituals.[1] Amir Mukhtar Faezi and Syed Sulayman Hasan Abidi are two clerics engaged in the facilitation of religious activities and propagation at the Baitul Ilm Center.
Activities
Baitul Ilm Academy and Mosque facilitates regular daily, weekly, monthly and annual programs:
Educational Programs
- Sunday school for children and adults
- Arabic language classes for children and adults
- Educational conferences and seminars in summer, winter and spring
- Training on Hajj and Umra rulings
Worship Programs
- Daily congregational prayers
- Special programs on Thursdays and Fridays (recitation of Supplication of Dua Kumayl and Ziyara Warith on Thursday nights, religious lectures, Maghrib and Isha Prayers and dinner on Friday nights)
- Friday Prayer, Eid al-Fitr Prayer, and Eid al-Adha Prayer

Occasional Programs
- Mourning ceremonies for Muharram and Safar
- Special programs for the Month of Ramadan
- Commemorating celebration and mourning ceremonies on the birth and martyrdom anniversaries of the Infallible Imams (a)
Annual Programs
- Intrafaith and interfaith dialogue seminars
- Annual blood drive
- Annual food distribution
Family Services
- Performance of marriage contracts (Nikah), Marriage, Divorce, and family counseling
- Funeral services and memorials for the deceased[2]
Future Goals
- Establishing an Ahl al-Bayt (a) Seminary: For full-time education in Islamic sciences and seminary studies
- Establishing a full-time Islamic school
- Translating important Islamic texts and educational resources
- Holding daily Qur'an classes
Multi-purpose Building

The new building of the Baitul Ilm Islamic Center is very spacious and has specific conditions for holding various programs. The different sections of this center include:
