International Conference on the 100th Anniversary of the Re-establishment of the Qom Seminary was a conference held on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the re-establishment of Qom Seminary by 'Abd al-Karim Ha'iri Yazdi, in (1446/2025) in Qom.

Holding the Congress

The commemoration of the 100th year of the re-establishment of Qom Seminary was held on 9 and 10 Dhu l-Qa'da 1446 /May 7 and 8, 2025, after a three-year delay,[1] at the Seminary of Imam Kazim (a) in Qom[2] and was attended by individuals from multiple counties worldwide.[3] In this conference, the message of Ayatollah Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, as well as messages from Ayatollah Makarim Shirazi, Ayatollah Nuri Hamadani[4] and Ayatollah Bashir Najafi[5] were read. The keynote speakers of the ceremony were also the Maraji' Ayatollah Jawadi Amuli and Ayatollah Subhani.[6] In his message, Ayatollah Khamenei considered the realization of a "Advanced and Distinguished Seminary" (Hawza-yi Pishru wa Saramad) with characteristics such as being innovative, responsive to current issues, refined (muhazzab), revolutionary and capable of designing social systems as essential. He also listed the delineation and promotion of the New Islamic Civilization as the most important duty of the seminary.[7]

Goals

The main goals of this event included strengthening the revolutionary discourse and resistance at a global level, developing the cooperation of the Qom seminary with seminaries of other countries and explaining the role of the seminary in the Islamic Revolution and Islamic civilization.[8] The permanent secretariat of the conference operates under the supervision of the Director of Seminaries.[9]

Scientific Works and Activities

According to Abu l-Qasim Haji-Muqimi, the secretary of the conference, two collections were unveiled at this ceremony:

  • Mawsu'at al-Muhaqqiq al-Ha'iri al-Yazdi, including 20 volumes of written works and transcriptions of the lessons of Shaykh 'Abd al-Karim Ha'iri.
  • A 29-volume collection containing 246 scientific articles authored with the participation of 310 researchers[10] and 11 books.[11]

Also, 24 specialized meetings on topics such as Fiqh, Ethics, Tafsir, Quranic sciences, propagation (tabligh), mysticism ('irfan), Theology (Kalam), religions and denominations, economics, history, psychology, media and cyberspace were held in this conference.[12]
