Some of the earliest Shiite sources, such as the ''book of Sulaym b. Qays'', ''Ithbat al-wasiyya'', ''Tafsir al-'Ayashi'', and ''[[Dala'il al-Imama]]'', have reported the incident and its consequences<ref>Hilālī, ''Kitāb Sulaym b.
