Tafsīr Ahl al-Bayt (a) (Persian: تفسیر اهلبیت(ع)) is a work, in Persian Language, by 'Alirida Barazish, counted among the contemporary Shi'a Hadith-based exegeses. According to the author, this exegesis was written by collecting interpretive narratives from reliable Shi'a sources with the aim of resolving the dispersion and incompleteness of previous hadith-based exegeses.[1]
Tafsir Ahl al-Bayt presents the interpretation of the verses of the Qur'an from the beginning to the end using the method of Sequential Exegesis.[2] According to International Quran News Agency (IQNA), this book is presented in 18 volumes containing 27,718 Hadiths, and only 650 verses remain uninterpreted in it, whereas in Tafsir al-Burhan, 1539 verses, and in Tafsir Nur al-Thaqalayn, 2417 verses are not interpreted.[3]
In organizing the narrations, the author first mentioned the narrations regarding the virtues of suras and verses and then presented the interpretive narrations of each section.[4] He selected only the parts of the narrations relevant to the interpretation of the verses.[5] He did not narrate hadiths from Sunni hadith sources, but narrated numerous hadiths from Ibn 'Abbas as a prominent student of Imam Ali (a).[6] Also, Barazish refrained from explaining and clarifying the verses and narrations in this work, except in rare cases.[7]
Among the features of this exegesis are the precise and organized categorization of narrations,[8] mentioning the Persian translation of hadiths after the Arabic text,[9] and omitting the chains of transmission to prevent an increase in the book's volume.[10]
The book was published by Amirkabir Publications in 2015.[11]
