Sāliḥ b. Wahb al-Yaznī (al-Maznī) al-Juʿfī (Arabic: صالح بن وهب الیزني الجعفي) (d. 66/685) was a soldier is the army of 'Umar b. Sa'd in the battle of Karbala and played a role in the martyrdom of Imam al-Husayn (a). Salih was among the ten persons who ran over Imam al-Husayn's (a) corpse with their horses. He was finally killed in the Uprising of al-Mukhtar.

Name

His name is stated in sources as Salih b. Wahb al-Yazni, Salih b. Wahb al-Mazni, Salih b. Wahb al-Ju'fi and Salih b. Wahb al-Murri.

The Day of Ashura

Shimr b. Dhi al-Jawshan along with a group of soldiers of 'Umar b. Sa'd's army including Salih b. Wahb came to Imam al-Husayn (a) on the day of Ashura while he was injured. Shimr encouraged his soldiers to martyr Imam al-Husayn (a) and finish the job. Salih b. Wahb threw a spear to the left side of Imam al-Husayn (a) then Imam (a) fell off his horse on the right side of his face.

Salih b. Wahb was also among the ten persons who ran over Imam al-Husayn's (a) body with their horses. After the battle of Karbala, those who ran over Imam's (a) body met Ibn Ziyad and they were rewarded small gifts. It is narrated from Abu 'Umar al-Zahid that those ten men were all children born out of wedlock.

Fate

In 66/685 Mukhtar al-Thaqafi launched an uprising in order to take revenge of the martyrs of Karbala. He ordered to nail the hands and legs of Salih b. Wahb and those who ran over Imam al-Husayn's (a) body, on the ground. Then horses ran over their bodies to their death.
