This book was published in 1396 Sh/2017-18.

Significance and Status

  • Hamrazman-i Husayn* comprises a collection of speeches delivered in Muharram 1393 AH, coinciding with 1351 Sh (1973), in the intense political-religious atmosphere preceding the Islamic Revolution of Iran (1979). Sayyid ʿAlī Khāminiʾī, the speaker of these sessions, was considered one of the fighters against the Pahlavi regime at that time. These speeches were delivered at the Ansar al-Husayn delegation in Tehran. In these speeches, Khāminiʾī addressed the importance of correctly recognizing the Imams, identifying the enemies' conspiracy to distort their combative image, and the meaning of Jihad.[1] In this work, the author developed the Theory of a 250-Year-Old Human and described the Imams from Imam al-Sajjad (a) to Imam al-Hasan al-Askari (a) as the "companions of Imam al-Husayn (a)".[2] Among the differences between this work and the book Insan-i 250 Sala (A 250-Year-Old Human) is the coherence of the content and the inclusion of more points regarding ethical and historical matters.[3]

In compiling the work, an effort has been made to minimize alterations to the author's spoken tone so that the reader can establish a better connection with the text.[4] This work has been selected by the Ministry of Education of Iran as one of the Islamic studies subjects for the teacher recruitment exam.[5]

The Institute for Research and Culture of the Islamic Revolution (Office for the Preservation and Publication of the Works of Grand Ayatollah Khamenei) extracted and organized this work from audio files of Sayyid ʿAlī Khāminiʾī's lecture sessions and published it in 1396 Sh/2017-18. In transcribing the speeches of the ninth and tenth sessions, due to the absence of audio files, the text was based on previously transcribed versions of these works.[8]
