Translation of the book of Palestine from Ayatullah Khamenei's Perspective

The book Palestine from the Perspective of Grand Ayatollah Khamenei (May His Shadow be Extended), the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, presents Ayatullah Khamenei’s views on the Palestinian issue. The content includes the text of Ayatullah Khamenei’s Friday Prayer sermon on Quds Day, delivered on Mordad 17, 1359 Sh (August 8, 1980), titled "Reminding the Second Quds Day", along with eight main sections: outlines, failures and victories, responsibilities, crimes, solutions, heroes, enlightenments, and a bright future.[1] The book was compiled and edited by Sa'id Sulh Mirzayi, a Shiite cleric,[2] who has also compiled Ayatullah Khamenei’s remarks on other issues.[3]

Some of Ayatullah Khamenei’s Views in the Book

  • The solution to the Palestinian issue is to hold a referendum involving all Palestinians, including Muslims, Christians, and Jews, whether residing in or outside the occupied territories.[4]
  • Palestine will be liberated[5] through resistance, not compromise or negotiation.[6] Any negotiations on the Palestinian issue are an unforgivable sin that bring nothing but loss for Palestinians and delay the liberation of Palestine.[7] Additionally, Ayatullah Khamenei has predicted that the Zionist regime will cease to exist by 2040.[8]
  • According to Islamic teachings, it is obligatory to defend Palestine and support its people.[9]
  • The Palestinian issue is the most important problem facing the Islamic world.[10]
  • It is a human issue, not merely an Arabic or Islamic one.[11]

'Ali Akbar Velayati’s Preface

Ali Akbar Velayati wrote the preface to this book, in which he describes the occupation of Palestine and the establishment of a Zionist state as part of a Western conspiracy against the Islamic world.[12]

Reactions to the Book’s Publication in Israeli and American Media

In 1394 Sh (2015), during the nuclear negotiations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the 5+1 countries, the publication of Palestine from Ayatullah Khamenei’s Perspective and his views on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict elicited reactions from the Israeli, American, and European press and media.[13] Benjamin Netanyahu, the then Prime Minister of the Zionist regime, presented a copy of this book during his speech at the United Nations General Assembly on Mehr 9, 1394 Sh (October 30, 2015), describing the true positions of the Iranian government and leader on Israel as hostile. Netanyahu’s speech was reported in Iranian domestic media, leading to increased public interest in this book.[14]
