Text:Sermon of Khutt al-Mawt

In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.	بِسْمِ اللَّـهِ الرَّ‌حْمَـٰنِ الرَّ‌حِيمِ
Praise be to God; what God wills [happens], and there is no power except with God; and may God send blessings upon His Messenger.	اَلْحَمْدُلِلهِ ما شاءَ اللهُ، وَ لا قُوَّةَ إِلاّ بِاللهِ، وَ صَلَّی اللهُ عَلی رَسُولِهِ،
The band of death upon the son of Adam is inscribed like a necklace on the girls’ necks,	خُطَّ الْمَوْتُ عَلی وُلْدِ آدَمَ مَخَطَّ الْقَلادَةِ عَلی جیدِ الْفَتاةِ،
and my longing for my ancestors is like Jacob’s longing for Joseph,	وَ ما أَوْلَهَنی إِلی أَسْلافی اِشْتِیاقُ یعْقُوبَ إِلی یوسُفَ،
and I have a good death to meet.	وَ خُیرَ لِی مَصْرَعٌ اَنَا لاقیهِ.
It is as if my limbs are cut off by ravenous wolves between Nawawis and Karbala, and they fill their hollow bellies with me.	کَأَنِّی بِاَوْصالی تَقْطَعُها عَسْلانُ الْفَلَواتِ بَینَ النَّواویسِ وَ کَرْبَلاءَ فَیمْلاََنَّ مِنِّی اَکْراشاً جَوْفاً وَ اَجْرِبَةً سَغْباً،
There is no escape from the day written with the pen [of destiny];	لا مَحیصَ عَنْ یوْم خُطَّ بِالْقَلَمِ،
what pleases God, pleases us, the Ahl al-Bayt (a). We keep patience in the face of calamity and He will give us the reward of the patient.	رِضَی اللهِ رِضانا اَهْلَ الْبَیتِ، نَصْبِرُ عَلی بَلائِهِ وَ یوَفّینا اَجْرَ الصّابِرینَ.
The flesh of the Messenger of God (a) will not separate from him,	لَنْ تَشُذَّ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ(صلی الله علیه وآله) لَحْمَتُهُ،
and [will meet him] in a gathering in the sanctuary of the Holy One [greatest levels of the Paradise], where his eyes will be enlightened with them and his promise will be fulfilled by them.	وَ هِی مَجْمُوعَةٌ لَهُ فی حَظیرَةِ الْقُدْسِ، تَقَرُّ بِهِمْ عَینُهُ وَ ینْجَزُ بِهِمْ وَعْدُهُ.
Whoever is ready to sacrifices [his life] for us and prepares himself to meet God, depart with us, for I am leaving in the morning, God willing.	مَنْ کانَ باذِلا فینا مُهْجَتَهُ، وَ مُوَطِّناً عَلی لِقاءِ اللهِ نَفْسَهُ فَلْیرْحَلْ مَعَنا فَاِنَّنِی راحِلٌ مُصْبِحاً اِنْ شاءَ اللهُ تَعالی
