The mustahab (recommended) acts for the nights of Qadr are divided into two types:

  • Acts which are common to the three nights and are done in all of them,
  • Particular acts for each night, which are extensively mentioned in Mafatih al-jinan and other supplication books.

Common practices

  • Ghusl before sunset.
  • Prayer of Laylat al-Qadr: Saying two rak'as of prayer in each rak'a, after reciting Qur'an 1 (Sura al-Fatiha), recite Qur'an 112 (Sura al-Ikhlas) seven times. After finishing the prayer, say "Astaghfir-u Allah-a wa atub-u ilayh" (استغفر الله و اتوب الیه) seventy times.
  • Night vigil (Ihya')
  • Recite one hundred rak'as (fifty prayers each of which two rak'as or Qada prayer).
  • Reciting the following supplication:
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَمْسَيتُ لَكَ عَبْداً داخِراً...
O Allah, I am, on this night, a very humble servant of Yours. I have no control over gains and losses for myself, nor can I avert any evil from it. اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَمْسَيْتُ لَكَ عَبْداً دَاخِراً لاَ أَمْلِكُ لِنَفْسِي نَفْعاً وَ لاَ ضَرّاً وَ لاَ أَصْرِفُ عَنْهَا سُوءاً
I bear witness to that over myself, I acknowledge to You my weakness and my lack of means. أَشْهَدُ بِذَلِكَ عَلَى نَفْسِي وَ أَعْتَرِفُ لَكَ بِضَعْفِ قُوَّتِي وَ قِلَّةِ حِيلَتِي
Therefore, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, and fulfil for me what You have promised me, and to all the believers, men and women, the (promise of) forgiveness on this night. فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ أَنْجِزْ لِي مَا وَعَدْتَنِي وَ جَمِيعَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَ الْمُؤْمِنَاتِ مِنَ الْمَغْفِرَةِ فِي هَذِهِ اللَّيْلَةِ
And complete for me what You have given me. Surely I am Your servant, poor, humble, weak, needy and disgraced. وَ أَتْمِمْ عَلَيَّ مَا آتَيْتَنِي فَإِنِّي عَبْدُكَ الْمِسْكِينُ الْمُسْتَكِينُ الضَّعِيفُ الْفَقِيرُ الْمَهِينُ
O Allah, do not make me forgetful of Your remembrance, in what You have entrusted me, nor heedless of Your favours, in what You have given me, nor despairing of Your answer, اللَّهُمَّ لاَ تَجْعَلْنِي نَاسِياً لِذِكْرِكَ فِيمَا أَوْلَيْتَنِي وَ لاَ (غَافِلاً) لِإِحْسَانِكَ فِيمَا أَعْطَيْتَنِي وَ لاَ آيِساً مِنْ إِجَابَتِكَ‏
even if it was delayed for me. [Let this be on all occasions] in happiness or sorrow, in difficulty or ease, in health or sickness, in misfortunes or blessings, surely You listen to the Du'as (supplications). وَ إِنْ أَبْطَأَتْ عَنِّي فِي سَرَّاءَ (كُنْتُ) أَوْ ضَرَّاءَ أَوْ شِدَّةٍ أَوْ رَخَاءٍ أَوْ عَافِيَةٍ أَوْ بَلاَءٍ أَوْ بُؤْسٍ أَوْ نَعْمَاءَ إِنَّكَ سَمِيعُ الدُّعَاءِ.
  • Ziyara of Imam al-Husayn (a):
السَّلامُ عَلَیک یا ابْنَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ...
Peace be on you, O son of the Messenger of Allah. Peace be on you, O son of Amir al-Mu'minin (Imam 'Ali). السَّلامُ عَلَیک یا ابْنَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ السَّلامُ عَلَیک یا ابْنَ أَمِیرِ الْمُؤْمِنِینَ
Peace be on you, O son of the Truthful, the Pure, Fatima, chief of the ladies of the worlds. Peace be on you, O my master, O Abu 'Abd Allah and the mercy of Allah, and His blessings. السَّلامُ عَلَیک یا ابْنَ الصِّدِّیقَةِ الطَّاهِرَةِ فَاطِمَةَ سَیدَةِ نِسَاءِ الْعَالَمِینَ السَّلامُ عَلَیک یا مَوْلای یا أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ وَ رَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَ بَرَکاتُهُ
I bear witness that, you established prayers, and gave Zakat, enjoined the good, and forbade evil, and you recited the Book (of Allah), the way it should be recited أَشْهَدُ أَنَّک قَدْ أَقَمْتَ الصَّلاةَ وَ آتَیتَ الزَّکاةَ وَ أَمَرْتَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَ نَهَیتَ عَنِ الْمُنْکرِ وَ تَلَوْتَ الْکتَابَ حَقَّ تِلاوَتِهِ
and you struggled in the way of Allah, the way it was its right, and you were patient in troubles on His side until conviction came to you. وَ جَاهَدْتَ فِی اللَّهِ حَقَّ جِهَادِهِ وَ صَبَرْتَ عَلَی الْأَذَی فِی جَنْبِهِ مُحْتَسِبا حَتَّی أَتَاک الْیقِینُ
I bear witness that, those who opposed you and fought you, and those who humiliated you and those who killed you, are cursed, by the tongue of the Prophet, the unlettered and whoever slackens will be disappointed. أَشْهَدُ أَنَّ الَّذِینَ خَالَفُوک وَ حَارَبُوک وَ الَّذِینَ خَذَلُوک وَ الَّذِینَ قَتَلُوک مَلْعُونُونَ عَلَی لِسَانِ النَّبِی الْأُمِّی وَ قَدْ خَابَ مَنِ افْتَرَی
May Allah curse your oppressors from the first ones to the last, and increase on them the painful punishment. لَعَنَ اللَّهُ الظَّالِمِینَ لَکمْ مِنَ الْأَوَّلِینَ وَ الْآخِرِینَ وَ ضَاعَفَ عَلَیهِمُ الْعَذَابَ الْأَلِیمَ
I have come to you, O my master, O son of the Messenger of Allah, as a visitor, knowing your rights, having love for your friends, and hatred for your enemies, aware of the guidance on which you were, knowing the misguidance of those who opposed you, therefore intercede for me with Your Lord. أَتَیتُک یا مَوْلای یا ابْنَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ زَائِرا عَارِفا بِحَقِّک مُوَالِیا لِأَوْلِیائِک مُعَادِیا لِأَعْدَائِک مُسْتَبْصِرا بِالْهُدَی الَّذِی أَنْتَ عَلَیهِ عَارِفا بِضَلالَةِ مَنْ خَالَفَک فَاشْفَعْ لِی عِنْدَ رَبِّک.
then attach yourself to the holy grave and put your face on it and then go the side which Imam al-Husayn's (a) head and say:
Peace be on you, O the decisive argument of Allah on His earth and in His heaven. السَّلامُ عَلَیک یا حُجَّةَ اللَّهِ فِی أَرْضِهِ وَ سَمَائِهِ
Blessings of Allah be on your refined soul and pure body. صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَی رُوحِک الطَّیبِ وَ جَسَدِک الطَّاهِرِ
and peace be on you, O my Mawla, also mercy and blessing of Allah. وَ عَلَیک السَّلامُ یا مَوْلای وَ رَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَ بَرَکاتُهُ.
then say Ziyara prayer which is two rak'a and then for Ziyara of Ali al-Akbar (a) say:
Peace be on you, O my master, and the son of my master, Mercy of Allah (be on you), and His blessings. اَلسَّلامُ عَلَیک یا مَوْلای وَ ابْنَ مَوْلای وَ رَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَ بَرَکاتُهُ
May Allah curse he who oppressed you, and may Allah curse he who killed you, and increase on them the painful punishment. لَعَنَ اللَّهُ مَنْ ظَلَمَک وَ لَعَنَ اللَّهُ مَنْ قَتَلَک وَ ضَاعَفَ عَلَیهِمُ الْعَذَابَ الْأَلِیمَ.
then for Ziyara of other martyrs (a) say:
Peace be on you, O the truthful ones. Peace be on you, O the patient martyrs. اَلسَّلامُ عَلَیکمْ أَیهَا الصِّدِّیقُونَ السَّلامُ عَلَیکمْ أَیهَا الشُّهَدَاءُ الصَّابِرُونَ
I bear witness that you, struggled in the way of Allah, and were patient in troubles on the side of Allah, and you exhorted (in the way of), Allah and His Messenger, until death came to you. أَشْهَدُ أَنَّکمْ جَاهَدْتُمْ فِی سَبِیلِ اللَّهِ وَ صَبَرْتُمْ عَلَی الْأَذَی فِی جَنْبِ اللَّهِ وَ نَصَحْتُمْ لِلَّهِ وَ لِرَسُولِهِ حَتَّی أَتَاکمُ الْیقِینُ
I bear witness that you are alive, being sustained by Your Lord. May Allah reward you, on behalf of Islam and its people, the best reward of the doers of good. And (may He) unite us with you, in the place of blessings (Heaven). أَشْهَدُ أَنَّکمْ أَحْیاءٌ عِنْدَ رَبِّکمْ تُرْزَقُونَ فَجَزَاکمُ اللَّهُ عَنِ الْإِسْلامِ وَ أَهْلِهِ أَفْضَلَ جَزَاءِ الْمُحْسِنِینَ وَ جَمَعَ بَینَنَا وَ بَینَکمْ فِی مَحَلِّ النَّعِیمِ.
then for Ziyara of 'Abbas b. Ali (a) say:
Peace be on you, O son of Amir al-Mu'minin. Peace be on you, O the virtuous servant, obedient to Allah and His Messenger. اَلسَّلامُ عَلَیک یا ابْنَ أَمِیرِ الْمُؤْمِنِینَ السَّلامُ عَلَیک أَیهَا الْعَبْدُ الصَّالِحُ الْمُطِیعُ لِلَّهِ وَ لِرَسُولِهِ
I bear witness that you struggled, and advised (others) and were patient until death came to you, أَشْهَدُ أَنَّک قَدْ [جَاهَدْتَ وَ] نَصَحْتَ وَ صَبَرْتَ حَتَّی أَتَاک الْیقِینُ
May Allah curse those who oppressed you, from the first ones to the last, and keep them in the bottom of the Fire. لَعَنَ اللَّهُ الظَّالِمِینَ لَکمْ مِنَ الْأَوَّلِینَ وَ الْآخِرِینَ وَ أَلْحَقَهُمْ بِدَرْک الْجَحِیمِ.
اللهم إني اسئلك بكتابك المُنزل...
Open the Qur'an and say:
O Allah bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad. O Allah I ask You, for the sake of Your revealed Book, and what is in it, and in it is Your greatest name, and (all) Your beautiful names, and what is feared and hoped for, make me amongst those whom You have saved from the fire. اللهم صل على محمد وال محمد. اللهم إني اسئلك بكتابك المُنزل، وما فيه وفيه اسمك الأكبر واسمائك الحُسنى، وما يُخاف ويُرجى أن تجعلني مِن عُتقائك من النار،
Place the Qur'an on the head and say:
O Allah, for the sake of this Qur'an, for the sake of the one You sent with it, for the sake of every believer You have praised in it, and for the sake of Your right over them, for none is more aware of Your right over them than Yourself. اللهم بحق هذا القرءان، وبحق من ارسلته به، وبحق كل مؤمن مدحته فيه، وبحقك عليهم فلا أحد اعرف بحقك منك
Repeat each of the following ten times.
For Your sake, O Allah, بک یا الله
for the sake of Muhammad (s), بمحمد
for the sake of 'Ali (a), بعلی
for the sake of Fatima (a), بفاطمة
for the sake of Hasan (a), بالحسن
for the sake of Husayn (a), بالحسين
for the sake of 'Ali b. al-Husayn (a), بعلی بن الحسين
for the sake of Muhammad b. 'Ali (a), بمحمد بن علي
for the sake of J'afar b. Muhammad (a), بجعفر بن محمد
for the sake of Musa b. J'afar (a), بموسی بن جعفر
for the sake of 'Ali b. Musa (a), بعلي بن موسی
for the sake of Muhammad b. 'Ali (a) بمحمد بن علي
for the sake of 'Ali b. Muhammad (a), بعلي بن محمد
for the sake of Hasan b. 'Ali (a), بالحسن بن علي
for the sake of al-Hujjat (the proof, Imam al-Mahdi) (a) بالحجة
then say what you wish.

Particular Practices

Eve of Nineteenth of Ramadan

  • Reciting this dhikr hundred times:

اَستَغفِرُاللهَ رَبّی و اَتوبُ اِلیهِ I seek forgiveness of Allah, and I turn (repentant) to Him.

  • Reciting this dhikr hundred times:"اَلّلهُمَّ العَن قَتَلَةَ اَمیرِالمُؤمِنینَ" (O Allah, curse the ones who killed Amir al-Mu'minin [Imam Ali (a)])
  • Reciting following du'a:
اَللّهُمَّ اْجْعَلْ فیما تَقْضی وَتُقَدِّرُ...
O Allah, let it be that when You decree and ordain from the matters which are certain, اَللّهُمَّ اْجْعَلْ فیما تَقْضی وَتُقَدِّرُ مِنَ الاَْمْرِ الْمَحْتُومِ،
that when You distinguish in the matters which are wise on the night of Qadr, وَفیما تَفْرُقُ مِنَ الاَْمْرِ الحَکیمِ فی لَیلَهِ الْقَدْرِ،
in the decree which cannot be reversed nor changed, وَفِی الْقَضآءِ الَّذی لا یرَدُّ وَلا یبَدَّلُ،
that You write me amongst those who will go for pilgrimage (hajj) to Your holy House, whose Hajj is approved, whose efforts are appreciated, whose sins are forgiven, whose evil deeds have been pardoned. اَنْ تَکْتُبَنی مِنْ حُجّاجِ بَیتِکَ الْحَرامِ، اَلْمَبْرُورِ حَجُّهُمْ، اَلْمَشْکُورِ سَعْیهُمْ، اَلْمَغْفُورِ ذُنُوبُهُمْ، اَلْمُکَفَّرِ عَنْهُمْ سَیئاتُهُمْ،
And from what You decree and ordain, let my life be lengthened, and increase my sustenance, and ... وَاجْعَلْ فیما تَقْضی وَتُقَدِّرُ، اَنْ تُطیلَ عُمْری، وَتُوَسِّعَ عَلَی فی رِزْقی، وَتَفْعَلَ بی‌کَذا وَکَذا.
ask for your wishes
  • Reciting following du'a:
یا ذَا الَّذِی کانَ قَبْلَ کلِّ شَیءٍ...
O that One who is (Ever-existing) Supreme Being and was there before any and everything, then (after that) He created all things. He is eternal and all that has been created is mortal. یا ذَا الَّذِی کانَ قَبْلَ کلِّ شَیءٍ ثُمَّ خَلَقَ کلَّ شَیءٍ ثُمَّ یبْقَی وَ یفْنَی کلُّ شَیءٍ
O that One like unto Him there is nothing. O that One who is such that no one in the high heavens, nor in the low earths, nor above, below and in between, worship anyone other than Him as a God. یا ذَا الَّذِی لَیسَ کمِثْلِهِ شَیءٌ وَ یا ذَا الَّذِی لَیسَ فِی السَّمَاوَاتِ الْعُلَی وَ لاَ فِی الْأَرَضِینَ السُّفْلَی وَ لاَ فَوْقَهُنَّ وَ لاَ تَحْتَهُنَّ وَ لاَ بَینَهُنَّ إِلَهٌ یعْبَدُ غَیرُهُ
Praise be to Thee. It is not possible to count up, remember and narrate Thy praise in all its dimensions. Thou alone can do it. لَک الْحَمْدُ حَمْداً لاَ یقْوَی عَلَی إِحْصَائِهِ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ
Therefor send blessing on Muhammad and his family, blessing that no one other than Thou has the capacity to count, remember and narrate its meaning and true purpose. فَصَلِّ عَلَی مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلاَةً لاَ یقْوَی عَلَی إِحْصَائِهَا إِلاَّ أَنْتَ.

Eve of Twenty first of Ramadan

  • Reciting du'as which belong to the last ten days of Ramadan
  • Reciting following du'a:
یا مُولِجَ اللَّیلِ فِی النَّهارِ...
O (One) who causes the night to pass into the day, and the day to pass into the night. یا مُولِجَ اللَّیلِ فِی النَّهارِ، وَمُولِجَ النَّهارِ فِی اللَّیلِ،
O (One) who brings forth the living from the dead, and brings forth the dead from the living. وَمُخْرِجَ الْحَی مِنَ الْمَیتِ، وَمُخْرِجَ الْمَیتِ مِنَ الْحَی،
O the Provider of sustenance for whoever He pleases, without measure. O Allah, O Benenficent, O Allah, O Merciful. O Allah, O Allah, O Allah, یا رازِقَ مَنْ یشآءُ بِغَیرِ حِساب، یا اَللهُ یا رَحْمنُ، یا اَللهُ یا رَحیمُ، یا اَللهُ یا اَللهُ یا اَللهُ،
You have the most beautiful names, the highest examples, the grandeur, the bounties. لَکَ الاَْسْمآءُ الْحُسْنی، وَ الاَْمْثالُ الْعُلْیا، وَالْکِبْرِیآءُ وَالاْلاءُ،
I beseech You to, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, and place my name, in this night, among the fortunate, اَسْئَلُکَ اَنْ تُصَلِّی عَلی مُحَمَّد وَ آلِ مُحَمَّد، وَ اَنْ تَجْعَلَ اسْمی فی هذِهِ اللَّیلَهِ فِی السُّعَدآءِ،
and my soul among the martyrs, let my good deeds be (written) in the 'Illiyyin (Book of the virtuous), and my evil deeds be forgiven. وَ رُوحی مَعَ الشُّهَدآءِ، وَاِحْسانی فی عِلِّیینَ، وَاِسآئَتی مَغْفُورَهً،
(And I beseech You to) grant me a certainty which gives joy to my heart, and a faith which drives doubt away from me, and make me pleased with what You have granted me. وَاَنْ تَهَبَ لی یقیناً تُباشِرُ بِهِ قَلْبی، وَاِیماناً یذْهِبُ الشَّکَّ عَنّی، وَتُرْضِینی بِما قَسَمْتَ لی،
(And I beseech You to) Give us good in this world, and good in the Hereafter, and save us from the punishment of the burning fire.(Q 2:201) و آتِنا فِی الدُّنْیا حَسَنَهً، وَ فِی الاْخِرَهِ حَسَنَهً، وَ قِنا عَذابَ النّارِ الْحَریقِ،
(And I beseech You to) grant me in it (Laylatul Qadr) Your remembrance, and Your gratitude, and desire for (pleasing) You, turning (to You for repentance), وَارْزُقْنی فیها ذِکْرَکَ وَ شُکْرَکَ، وَ الرَّغْبَهَ اِلَیکَ وَ الاِْنابَهَ،
and success, for all that You have granted Muhammad and his family, peace be on him and on them. وَ التَّوْفیقَ لِما وَفَّقْتَ لَهُ مُحَمَّداً وَ آلَ مُحَمَّد عَلَیهِ وَ عَلَیهِمُ السَّلامُ.
  • Reciting following du'a:
وَاقْسِمْ لی حِلْماً یسُدُّ عَنّی بابَ الْجَهْلِ...
O Allah send blessing on Muhammad and his family, اَللّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلی مُحَمَّد وَ آلِ مُحَمَّد،
and inculcate maturity (of thought and action) in me so that it stops me at the gate of ignorance;

help me with guidance to cut off all links with every type of waywardness.

وَاقْسِمْ لی حِلْماً یسُدُّ عَنّی بابَ الْجَهْلِ، وَهُدی تَمُنُّ بِهِ عَلَی مِنْ کُلِّ ضَلالَه،
let me have enough means to barricade the gaps of poverty, give me strength to avert weakness. وَغِنی تَسُدُّ بِهِ عَنّی بابَ کُلِّ فَقْر، وَقُوَّهً تَرُدُّ بِها عَنّی کُلَّ ضَعْف،
raise me to noble heights to abstain from anything low and mean; let me reach higher regions to leave behind humiliation; وَعِزّاً تُکْرِمُنی بِهِ عَنْ کُلِّ ذِلَّه، وَرِفْعَهً تَرْفَعُنی بِها عَنْ کُلِّ ضَعَه،
take me to peaceful sanctuary to remain safe from all terrors; cover me with safety to shield from the impact of all calamities; وَاَمْناً تَرُدُّ بِهِ عَنّی کُلَّ خَوْف، وَعافِیهً تَسْتُرُنی بِها مِنْ کُلِّ بَلاء،
open my mind with knowledge to cultivate sure belief; let me be certain of the indubitable truth to dispel all doubts; وَعِلْماً تَفْتَحُ لی بِهِ کُلَّ یقین، وَیقیناً تُذْهِبُ بِهِ عَنّی کُلَّ شَکٍّ،
stimulate me to make use of prayer to draw Thy attention for fulfillment (of my desires) in this night, (in fact) at this very moment.O Generous Giver; وَدُعآءً تَبْسُطُ لی بِهِ الاِْجابَهَ فی هذِهِ اللَّیلَهِ، وَفی هذِهِ السّاعَهِ السّاعَهِ السّاعَهِ یا کَریمُ،
put fear (of the consequences of breaking Thy laws) in my heart to deserve (Thy) all-embracing mercy; preserve incorruptible integrity in me وَ خَوْفاً تَنْشُرُ لی بِهِ کُلَّ رَحْمَه، وَعِصْمَهً تَحُولُ بِها بَینی وَ بَینَ الذُّنُوبِ،
so that it puts a barrier between me and wrongdoing till I reach the sanctuary of the infallibles, to be presented before Thee for obtaining Thy mercy, O the Most Merciful. حَتّی اُفْلِحَ بِها بَینَ الْمَعْصُومینَ عِنْدَکَ، بِرَحْمَتِکَ یا اَرْحَمَ الرّاحِمینَ.
  • Reciting following du'a:
وَ أسْألُکَ بِجَمیعِ ما سَأَلْتُکَ...

وَ أسْألُکَ بِجَمیعِ ما سَأَلْتُکَ وَ ما لَمْ أَسْأَلْکَ مِنْ عَظیمِ جَلالِکَ، ما لَوْ عَلِمْتُهُ لَسَأَلْتُکَ بِهِ، أَنْ تُصَلِّی عَلی مُحَمَّد وَ أَهْلِ بَیتِهِ، وَ أَنْ تَأْذَنَ لِفَرَجِ مَنْ بِفَرَجِهِ فَرَجُ أَوْلِیائِکَ وَ أَصْفِیائِکَ مِنْ خَلْقِکَ، وَ بِهِ تُبیدُ الظّالِمینَ وَ تُهْلِکُهُمْ، عَجِّلْ ذلِکَ یا رَبَّ الْعالَمینَ.

Eve of Twenty third of Ramadan

  • Reciting following du'a:
اَللَّهُمَّ امْدُدْ لِی فِی عُمُرِی...
O Allah prolong my life span, increase my means of livelihood, keep my body in sound condition, fulfill my desires. اَللَّهُمَّ امْدُدْ لِی فِی عُمُرِی وَ أَوْسِعْ لِی فِی رِزْقِی وَ أَصِحَّ لِی جِسْمِی وَ بَلِّغْنِی أَمَلِی
if I am to be thrown into calamities, cancel my entanglement with such misfortunes, and write my name in teh list of those who have been blessed to be fortunate. وَ إِنْ کنْتُ مِنَ الْأَشْقِیاءِ فَامْحُنِی مِنَ الْأَشْقِیاءِ وَ اکتُبْنِی مِنَ السُّعَدَاءِ
because Thou has said in Thy Book, revealed to Thy commissioned Prophet (Thy blessing be on him and his family), فَإِنَّک قُلْتَ فِی کتَابِک الْمُنْزَلِ عَلَی نَبِیک الْمُرْسَلِ صَلَوَاتُک عَلَیهِ وَ آلِهِ
Allah cancels what He wills, and confirms (what He wills); and with Him is source of the Book (ordinance). یمْحُو اللَّهُ مَا یشَاءُ وَ یثْبِتُ وَ عِنْدَه‌ام الْکتَابِ
  • Reciting following du'a:
اَللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْ فِیمَا تَقْضِی وَ فِیمَا تُقَدِّرُ...
O Allah at the time of taking decisions and rendering possible things and events decisively (decisions which cannot be changed or bypassed but can be kept in abeyance on account of the all-wise operation of laws made by Thee), in the night of Qadr, اَللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْ فِیمَا تَقْضِی وَ فِیمَا تُقَدِّرُ مِنَ الْأَمْرِ الْمَحْتُومِ وَ فِیمَا تَفْرُقُ مِنَ الْأَمْرِ الْحَکیمِ فِی لَیلَةِ الْقَدْرِ مِنَ الْقَضَاءِ الَّذِی لا یرَدُّ وَ لا یبَدَّلُ
write my name in the list of those pilgrims of Thy sacred house whose pilgrimage receive Thy approval, whose wrongdoings are overlooked, أَنْ تَکتُبَنِی مِنْ حُجَّاجِ بَیتِک الْحَرَامِ فِی عَامِی هَذَا الْمَبْرُورِ حَجُّهُمْ الْمَشْکورِ سَعْیهُمْ الْمَغْفُورِ ذُنُوبُهُمْ الْمُکفَّرِ عَنْهُمْ سَیئَاتُهُمْ
and while making decisions and rendering possible things and events, make possible for me long life and enough means of livelihood. وَ اجْعَلْ فِیمَا تَقْضِی وَ تُقَدِّرُ أَنْ تُطِیلَ عُمْرِی وَ تُوَسِّعَ لِی فِی رِزْقِی
  • Reciting following du'a:
یا بَاطِنا فِی ظُهُورِهِ وَ یا ظَاهِرا فِی بُطُونِهِ...
O Intrinsic Fundamental (Secret) evident in His exposed intelligible expression (Manifest), and O Rational Exposition (Manifest) leading to His genuine quintessential (secret). O Innate Unseeable but not unintelligible. O Expressive exposition but not seeable. یا بَاطِنا فِی ظُهُورِهِ وَ یا ظَاهِرا فِی بُطُونِهِ وَ یا بَاطِنا لَیسَ یخْفَی وَ یا ظَاهِرا لَیسَ یرَی
O He who is distinguished by qualities but no description points out His Being, nor any definition defines Him. O He who is transcendental but not missing. O He who is present but not perceivable! No sooner He is longed for (remembered) He reaches to pay attention. یا مَوْصُوفا لا یبْلُغُ بِکینُونَتِهِ مَوْصُوفٌ وَ لا حَدٌّ مَحْدُودٌ وَ یا غَائِبا [غَائِبُ] غَیرَ مَفْقُودٍ وَ یا شَاهِدا [شَاهِدُ] غَیرَ مَشْهُودٍ یطْلَبُ فَیصَابُ
At no time, even for a flash of the eyelids (lesser than that), the heavens and the earth and that which is between them is empty of His presence. وَ لا یخْلُو [لَمْ یخْلُ] مِنْهُ السَّمَاوَاتُ وَ الْأَرْضُ وَ مَا بَینَهُمَا طُرْفَةَ [طَرْفَةَ] عَینٍ
there is no way to know how is He, nor find out where is He, nor say why is He. لا یدْرَک بِکیفٍ [بِکیفَ] وَ لا یؤَینُ بِأَینٍ [بِأَینَ] وَ لا بِحَیثٍ [بِحَیثُ]
Thou art the light of every light. and the Lord of the lords, Thou controls every aspect of all phenomena. Glory be to He like unto whom there is nothing. He is Hearing, Seeing. Glory be to He who is just like that and is not just like that anyone other than He. أَنْتَ نُورُ النُّورِ وَ رَبُّ الْأَرْبَابِ أَحَطْتَ بِجَمِیعِ الْأُمُورِ سُبْحَانَ مَنْ لَیسَ کمِثْلِهِ شَیءٌ وَ هُوَ السَّمِیعُ الْبَصِیرُ سُبْحَانَ مَنْ هُوَ هَکذَا وَ لا هَکذَا غَیرُهُ
  • Reciting following du'a:
اَللّهُمَّ کنْ لِوَلِیک الْحُجَّةِ بْنِ الْحَسَنْ...
O Allah! for Your Wali, Hujjat ibn Al-Hasan That Your Blessings Be Upon Him and His Forbears, اَللّهُمَّ کنْ لِوَلِیک الْحُجَّةِ بْنِ الْحَسَنْ صَلَواتُک عَلَیهِ وَعَلی آبائِهِ
at This and all the Time, Be Guardian, Supporter, Leader, Helper, Guide and Lookout, فِی هذِهِ السَّاعَةِ وَفی کلِّ ساعَة وَلِیاً وَحافِظاً وَقائِداً وَناصِراً وَدَلِیلاً وَعَیناً
Until You Make Him Settle on Your Earth Delightedly [for leading the divine global government] and Benefit Him on the Earth for a Long Time. حَتَّی تُسْکنَهُ أَرْضَک طَوْعاً وَتُمَتِّعَهُ فِیها طَوِیلاً
