Year 11 AH[1] started on Sunday, March 29, 632 CE, and ended on Wednesday, March 17, 633 CE[2].

The year is important in the history of Shi'a; because on Safar 28 of this year the holy Prophet (s) demised, after which the event of Saqifa took place, and Abu Bakr became the caliph of Muslims, instead of Imam 'Ali (a) who was, in the view of Shi'a, the rightful caliph after the Prophet (s). Lady Fatima (a) was also martyred in this year.
