The List of the Companions of Imam al-Baqir (a) contains people mentioned in Shiite sources as transmitters of hadiths from, and companions of, Imam al-Baqir (a).
Number
In his Rijal, al-Shaykh al-Tusi mentions 473 people as companions of Imam al-Baqir (a). Qurashi mentions 477 people in his Hayat al-Imam Muhammad al-Baqir (a), and 'Atarudi mentions 654 people in his Musnad al-Imam al-Baqir (a). They have also provided brief biographies of the Imam's companions.

- Zurara b. A'yan; (b. c 70/689-90 - d. 148/765-6) was one of the greatest Shi'a faqihs and theologians, and among the close companions of Imam al-Baqir (a), Imam al-Sadiq (a), and Imam al-Kazim (a).
- Ma'ruf b. Kharrabudh; among narrators who have been mentioned as reliable both by Shi'a and Sunni scholars.
- Burayd b. Mu'awiya; one of the Shi'a faqihs of the first half of 2nd/8th century, and one of the companions of Imam al-Baqir (a) and Imam al-Sadiq (a).
- al-Fudayl b. Yasar
- Muhammad b. Muslim; (d. 150/767-8) was a prominent companion of Imam al-Baqir (a) and Imam al-Sadiq (a).

- Abu l-Jarud; a companion of Imam al-Baqir (a) and Imam al-Sadiq (a). He was the founder of the first Zaydi sect, that is, Jarudiyya.
- Abu Khalid al-Kabuli; known as Kankar, was a companion and hadith transmitter (or rawi) of Imam al-Sajjad (a) and Imam al-Baqir (a).
- Bukayr b. A'yan; one of companions of Imam al-Baqir (a) and Imam al-Sadiq (a).
- Jabir b. Yazid al-Ju'fi; one of Tabi'un and an outstanding companion of Imam al-Baqir (a) and Imam al-Sadiq (a).
- Humran b. A'yan; one of the eminent companions of Imam al-Baqir (a) and Imam al-Sadiq (a). He was an expert in the science of al-qira'a, Arabic syntax and lexicology, fiqh and kalam.
- Khalid b. Abi Karima; a transmitter of Imam al-Baqir's (a). In Sunni hadith collections, there are hadiths narrated by him from the Holy Prophet (s).
- Khaythama b. 'Abd al-Rahman; a Shi'a hadith narrator of the 2nd/8th century and one of the companions of Imam al-Baqir (a) and Imam al-Sadiq (a).
- 'Abd al-Malik b. A'yan; known as Abu Durays (أبوضُرَیس) was one of the chiefs of Al A'yan and among the special and trustworthy companions of Imam al-Baqir (a) and Imam al-Sadiq (a).

- Abu Basir; (d. 150/ 767-8), was an Imamiyya figure in Kufa and a companion of Imam al-Baqir (a) and Imam al-Sadiq (a). He is also said to have been a companion of Imam Musa al-Kazim (a).

- Aban b. Abi 'Ayyash; a companion of Imam al-Sajjad (a), Imam al-Baqir (a) and Imam al-Sadiq (a). He was regarded as a true virtuous and religious man by everyone including Sunni Muslims.

- Jabir b. 'Abd Allah al-Ansari; a companion of Prophet Muhammad (s), he took an oath of allegiance to Prophet Muhammad (s) in the second Pledge at al-'Aqaba. He was considered a prominent companion of Ahl al-Bayt (a), from Imam 'Ali (a) to Imam al-Baqir (a).
