Āl abī Jāmiʿ (Arabic: آل أبي جامع) or Āl al-Ḥārithī al-Hamdānī (Arabic: آل الحارثي الهمداني) was a family of Shi'a religious scholars in Iraq, Lebanon, and Iran in the 10th/16th and 11th/17th centuries. The head of Al abiJami' was Ahmad al-Jabal 'Amili al-Lubnani, and his lineage traces back to al-Harith al-Hamdani, a companion of Imam Ali (a); therefore, this family also became known as al-Harithi al-Hamdani.
Lineage
The reason for the fame of the "Al abiJami'" family by this name is that Ahmad Shahab al-Din, their great forefather built a complete mosque (Jami' Mosque) in Jabal Amil, or they became famous due to a child named Jami'.[1] The greatest individual of this family was Ahmad al-Jabal 'Amili al-Lubnani, whose lineage detect back to al-Harith al-Hamdani, the famous companion of Imam Ali (a), and for this reason, this family also became known as "al-Harithi al-Hamdani".[2]
Al abiJami' are from the descendants of Shaykh 'Abd al-Samad, the brother of al-Shaykh al-Baha'i, and it is said that members of this family migrated to Najaf to study knowledge.[3]

Ahmad b. Muhammad
Ahmad b. Muhammad Shahab al-Din, or Jamal al-Din, known as Ibn abiJami' (d. 928/1522), was an Exegete, Muhaddith, and the founder of the Al abiJami' family. He was one of the noyable Shi'a scholars. He had permission for transmission of hadith (Ijaza) from Ahmad b. Bayda'i and al-Muhaqqiq al-Karaki. Al-Muhaqqiq al-Karaki issued his permission in 928/1522, mentioning his chain of masters through Mutahhar al-Hilli, al-Tusi, al-Mufid, al-Kulayni, and al-Saduq back to Imam Ali b. Musa al-Rida (a); after confirming Ahmad's competence, he authorized him to narrate hadith. Among his works, an exegesis titled Al-Wajiza fi tafsir al-kitab al-'aziz remains, written in a concise style.
Ali b. Ahmad
Ali b. Ahmad Nur al-Din (d. 1005/1597) was a Shi'a scholar and resident of Najaf. After the demise of his teacher, Al-Shahid al-Thani, he migrated with his family to Karbala and settled there. Some individuals spoke ill of him to the Ottoman Sultan, and the Sultan ordered him to go to Istanbul, but Nur al-Din fled to Iran. He first went to Dawraq and then moved to Huwayza, living there until his death. After his demise, his children moved to Shushtar.
His works include Sharh qawa'id al-hilli in fiqh, which remained unfinished, and Tahqiq fi salat al-jum'a.
'Abd al-Latif b. Ali
'Abd al-Latif b. Ali Muhyi al-Din was a famous Imami faqih, researcher, and Muhaddith. The exact dates of his birth and death are unknown. He resided in Huwayza and migrated to Khalafabad after his father's death. 'Abd al-Latif studied under some of the most great scholars of his time, such as al-Shaykh al-Baha'i, Sahib MaAlim Zayn al-Din, Shaykh Hasan the son of al-Shahid al-Thani, and Sayyid Muhammad b. abil-Hasan al-'Amili, receiving permissions for narration from them. He was also among the teachers of Sayyid Ali Khan al-Huwayzi.

Radi al-Din b. Ali
Radi al-Din b. Ali (d. 1048/1638) was a Faqih, Muhaddith, and prominent Shi'a scholar who resided in Shushtar. He traveled to Mashhad in 1025/1616. Radi al-Din was a present of Shah Abbas I (d. 1038/1629) and was considered one of his close associates.
For a time, he held the position of Chief Judge (Qadi al-Qudat) of Shushtar, Dezful, Khorramabad, Behbahan, Dehdasht, Kohgiluyeh and its surroundings, Hamadan, and surrounding areas. Supervision of Endowments (Awqaf) was another of his responsibilities. During this period, he lived in Hamadan for several years. After resigning from his positions, he migrated to Najaf and passed away there.
Fakhr al-Din b. Ali
Fakhr al-Din b. Ali was a scholar and Muhaddith. Regarding his life, it is only stated that after his father's death, he came from Huwayza to Shiraz and settled in that city. He had permission for hadith narration from al-Shahid al-Thani and his son, Shaykh Hasan.
Hasan b. Ali
Hasan b. Ali was a scholar, Faqih, and Muhaddith. He went to India, settled in Hyderabad, and studied under Muhammad b. Khatun al-Amili, who was a resident of India. He passed away in the same city in the late 11th/17th century. He had permission for narration from his father.
Ali b. Radi al-Din
Ali b. Radi al-Din was a Faqih, poet, and researcher, a contemporary of Al-Hurr al-Amili (the author of Wasa'il al-Shi'a), and a resident of Khalafabad. He wrote a treatise as a supplement to Amal al-amil.
Muhyi al-Din b. 'Abd al-Latif
Muhyi al-Din b. 'Abd al-Latif was a Faqih, Muhaddith, and scholar of the 11th/17th century; no information is available about his life. His descendants in Najaf became known as Al Muhyi al-Din.
Ali b. Muhyi al-Din
Ali b. Muhyi al-Din was a scholar and Faqih. Nothing is clear about his life. The book Al-Irth is among his works.
Husayn b. Muhyi al-Din
Husayn b. Muhyi al-Din was a Faqih, Muhaddith, poet, and man of letters. He had permission for narration from his father. His works include:

Hasan b. Husayn
Hasan b. Husayn (d. 1113/1701) was a Faqih and religious scholar who was also familiar with other sciences of his time.
Ali b. Husayn
Ali b. Husayn was a Faqih and Muhaddith. He was a citizen of Khalafabad and had permission for narration from Al-Sayyid Ni'mat Allah al-Jaza'iri. His works are as follows:

Ja'far b. Muhammad
Ja'far b. Muhammad (d. 1247/1831) is considered one of the elders of Al abiJami' and Al Muhyi al-Din and a renowned scholar of this family. He passed away before his brother, "Sharif".
Sharif b. Muhammad
Sharif b. Muhammad (Sharif al-Kabir) likely passed away after 1261/1845. He was considered a man of knowledge and literature in his time. The book Al-Shara'if al-jami'iyya fi asrar al-fiqh al-imamiyya is his work.
'Abd al-Husayn b. Qasim
'Abd al-Husayn b. Qasim (d. 1271/1855) was famous for his knowledge, literature, and mastery of various types of poetry. His abundant talent and creative mind enabled him to become capable in knowledge and various fields of literature and invention in poetry. He has a poem in the science of [[grammer] (Nahw) which Shaykh Muhammad al-Samawi collected. He passed away in Najaf.
Musa b. Sharif
Musa b. Sharif (d. 1281/1864) was a poet and researcher residing in Najaf. He has a poetry collection titled Takhmis al-maqsura al-durriyya, which is in praise of Imam Ali (a), Imam al-Hasan (a), and Imam al-Husayn (a).
Salih b. Ali
Salih b. Ali (d. 1298/1881) was a man of letters and a poet. He studied under Shaykh Muhammad Taha in Najaf. His fame lies in poetry, and his poems possess a special density and expression .
Jawad b. Ali
Jawad b. Ali (d. 1322/1904) was a Faqih, Muhaddith, and poet residing in Najaf. He studied in the seminary of this city under masters such as Shaykh Muhammad Husayn Kazimi, Sayyid Ali b. Sayyid Rida Al Bahr al-'Ulum al-Najafi, and Sayyid Muhammad Taqi Tabataba'i, attaining high scholarly levels, after which he established his own jurisprudence class. He had permission for narration from Muhammad Hasan al-Najafi (Sahib Jawahir), Shaykh Muhsin b. Khanfar, Shaykh Mahdi, Shaykh Ja'far, and Sayyid Ali Tabataba'i. His works include:

Sharif b. Musa
Sharif b. Musa (Sharif al-Saghir) was a Faqih and man of letters who was considered the head of the Al Muhyi al-Din family in his time.
Qasim b. Hasan
Qasim b. Hasan (1314-1374/1896-1955) was a Faqih, Usuli, man of letters, poet, grammarian, and logician. He was born in Najaf, raised in its seminary, and learned the common sciences of his time. His works include:
