ʿAlī b. Zayn al-ʿĀbidīn al-Bārjīnī al-Yazdī al-Hāʾirī (Arabic: علي بن زینالعابدین البارجینی الیزدي الحائري) is one of the Shi'a scholars in fourteen/twentieth century. He was originally from Yazd, however, he is famous as al-Ha'iri because of his residency in Karbala up to his death. Al-Shaykh 'Ali al-Ha'iri have written several books which included the book Ilzam al-nasib on the statuses of Imam al-Mahdi (a). He passed away in 1333/1914-5 and his tomb is in the holy shrine of al-'Abbas b. 'Ali.
Birth
He was born in one of the countries of Ardakan in Yazd providence. He learned some elementary courses in some school in the country Barjin. Then, he immigrated to Karbala for studding religious sciences as well as Islamic thoughts. Because of his residency in Karbala he is named as al-Ha'iri, since the other name of Karbala is al-Ha'ir al-Husayni.[1]

He has ijaza (permission to transmit hadiths) from several Islamic scholars. Some of his teachers are as follows:

Pupils
After graduation, 'Ali al-Ha'iri became a chairman; and have grown up many pupils which some of them took permission to transmit hadith. Some of them are as follow:
- Al-Sayyid Shams al-Din Mahmud al-Husayni al-Mar'ashi al-Najafi, the father of Sayyid Shahab al-Din Mar'ashi Najafi.
- 'Ali b. Isma'il al-Kirmani al-Wa'iz, the author of Anis al-anam.
He has established a religious seminary and great library which included different book in the fields of fiqh, usul, kalam, hadith, literature, etc. Aqa Buzurg Tihrani was often studding in this library.[3]

Death
Al-Shaykh 'Ali al-Ha'iri died in 1333/1914-15 in Karbala and has buried in the holy shrine of al-'Abbas b. 'Ali.
