Draft:Jihād al-marʾa ḥusn al-tabaʿʿul

From wikishia

Jihād al-mar'a ḥusn al-tabaul (Translation: The jihad of a woman is good spousal care) is a hadith from Prophet Muhammad (s) and the Imams (a) about ḥusn al-tabaul.

Good spousal care is considered a branch of the jihad of the soul[1] and it is said that its reward is equal to the reward of a mujahid in the path of God.[2] In Islam, women are exempted from certain matters such as jihad, judgeship, and governance, and the reward for these matters is secured through duties such as treating the spouse well, home management, and raising children.[3]

Instances of husn al-tabaul include good behavior towards the husband, preserving his property and honor, obedience in legitimate matters,[4] avoidance of misplaced jealousy and dispute,[5] adornment for the husband, and creating a peaceful and loving atmosphere at home.[6] However, in cases where the husband behaves inappropriately, the wife has the right to defend herself.[7]

This hadith has been narrated in Shi'a sources such as the book al-Ja'fariyyat from the Prophet (s),[8] in Nahj al-balagha from Imam 'Ali (a),[9] in the book Man la yahduruh al-faqih from Imam al-Sadiq (a),[10] and in the book al-Kafi from Imam al-Kazim (a).[11] It is also narrated in Sunni sources such as the book al-Durr al-manthur and Ma'ani al-akhbar from the Prophet (s).[12]

Some researchers have considered the chain of transmission of this hadith as weak and have criticized its content.[13] In contrast, others consider it consistent with other hadiths, including a hadith from Imam 'Ali (a) which considers the jihad of a woman to be patience against the harassment of her husband.[14][15]
