Hawzah News Agency (Persian: خبرگزاری حوزه) was established on (22 Dhu l-Hijja 1426/23 January 2006) under the management of the Management Center of Islamic Seminaries with the aim of timeously reporting the latest news related to Islamic seminaries and Shi'a scholars.[1] The agency's has branches nation wide with it's central office based in Qom.[2]

The mission of the Hawza News Agency include: reporting news related to Marja's (religious authorities) and Shi'a scholars, seminaries and Islamic institutions inside and outside of Iran, covering news related to provinces across Iran, conducting interviews with Imams that lead the Friday Prayer as well as seminary officials.[3]

News reports are published in several languages including Persian, Arabic, English, French, Urdu and Hindi.[4] According to some media reports, the source of 80 percent of news published regarding seminaries in the news media industry comes from the Hawzah Official News Agency.[5]

Since the establishment of the Hawzah News Agency it has produced 600,000 media products over various news and media platforms, held numerous workshops and conferences for clerics (students) throughout Iran, published over one thousand interviews with figures from the Islamic and Christian faiths, provided answers to various doubts, published scientific and cultural content, participated in various seminary and media exhibitions and is ranked among the best news agencies.[6] On 29 Jamad us Thani 1442/ 9 February 2021, the women's faculty of this news agency was inaugurated.[7]
