Umm al-Ḥaṣīn bt. Isḥāq al-Aḥmasīyya (Arabic: أم الحصین بنت إسحاق الأحمسیة) is among the female narrators of hadith from the Prophet (s).[1] She was the sister of Abi Artat,[2] and Ayzar b. Hurayth and Yahya b. Hasin—her grandson—narrated hadith from her. Her son, Hasin, is also counted among the Companions of the Prophet (s).[3]
Umm al-Hasin was present at Hajjat al-Wada'.[4] Yahya b. Hasin narrated a report from her describing Usama and Bilal beside the Prophet (s); one was holding the rein of the Prophet's camel and the other was shielding him from the heat with his garment until the Ramy al-Jamarat al-'Aqaba was performed.[5] She also narrated another hadith from the Prophet (s) in which people are invited to God-wariness (Taqwa) and obedience, even if the ruler is an Abyssinian slave, as long as he acts according to the Book of God and establishes its laws.[6]
