Fame

The fame of the book is for the discussions in the second and fourth volumes about the events in the month of Muharram, especially the uprising of Imam al-Husayn (a). The author benefited from many sources and spoke about the Battle of Karbala and in some cases mentioned his own analysis and views. Some of the issues of these two volumes are as follows:

  • Events of the evening of Tasu'a
  • Martyrdom of Imam al-Husayn (a)
  • Crying of the prophets and angels for Imam al-Husayn (a)
  • Events of the evening of Ashura
  • The manner of burial of martyrs
  • Entering the family of Imam al-Husayn (a) to Kufa and Syria
  • Stations of the captives of the family of Imam al-Husayn (s)

In the Views of Others

Although Waqayi' al-ayyam contained both weak and strong reports, in Tahqiq darbareh-ye avval Arba'in-e Sayyid al-Shuhada, Qadi Tabataba'i described it having a good approach because it mentioned the chains of its transmissions.

Muhammad 'Ali Mudarris Tabrizi considered Waqayi' al-ayyam dar tatammeh-ye Muharram a valuable work and a bright jewel which revives issues about the Ahl al-Bayt (a), contains miscellaneous scientific, historical, literary and other issues and is beneficial for both young and the elderly.
