Al-Ḥaqīqat kamā hīya (Arabic: الحَقیقَةُ کَمَا هِيَ) is a short book explaining Twelver Shi'a thought, written by the Shi'a cleric, Ja'far al-Hadi (d. 2020). In this book, the author has introduced Shi'a by verses of the Qur'an and hadiths without using arguments. The book is written in Arabic. The Ahl al-Bayt (a) World Assembly published this book in 2005, and until October 2023, has translated it into thirty-three languages. The English translation has been published under the title The Truth As It Is

Introduction

Al-Haqiqat kama hiya (Truth as it is), is a book in Arabic introducing the beliefs of Twelver Shiites using only verses of the Qur'an and hadiths.[1] The author of the book, Ja'far al-Hadi (d. 2020), was an Iraq Shiite cleric and a member of the Ahl al-Bayt (a) World Assembly.

In this book, it has been tried to provide a brief definition and explanation of the framework of Shi'a thoughts, regardless of any arguments and references to questions, accusations, and disagreements between Islamic sects.[2] The author aims to point out the differences between Shi'a beliefs and the beliefs of other Islamic schools in forty topics.[3] Al-Haqiqat kama hiya has been translated and published in thirty-three languages.[4]

Structure and Content

Al-Haqiqat kama hiya, is a short book, including an introduction by the publisher, an introduction by the author and the text of the book, without a list of contents or chapters.[5] The content of the book is numbered in forty topics and introduces Shi'a and their beliefs.[6] The content of the book based on the text is briefly as follows:

This book was published in 1426/2005 by the Ahl al-Bayt (a) World Assembly in six thousand copies.[8] This book has also been translated into thirty-three other languages:
