Bi-Lawn al-Ghār bi-Lawn al-Ghadīr (the Color of the Cave, the Color of Ghadir) is a collection of poems in Arabic, in praise of the Ahl al-Bayt (a) composed by Ma'ruf 'Abd al-Majid (born 1952), an Egyptian convert poet. The first qasida (ode) of this collection is dedicated to expressing the virtues of the Prophet (s) and the second qasida to expressing the virtues of Imam 'Ali (a). Other qasidas in this book are dedicated to expressing the virtues of Lady Fatima (s), Imam al-Hasan (a) and Imam al-Rida (a), and the martyrdom of Imam al-Husayn (a).
By mentioning the words Cave and Ghadir together in the title of the book, Ma'ruf 'Abd al-Majid emphasizes the close relationship between Imamate and Prophethood. This book has been published by Al-Abhath al-Aqa'idiyya Center within a collection called Silsilat al-Riḥla ilā l-Thaqalayn.
Description and Status
The book Bi-Lawn al-Ghar bi-Lawn al-Ghadir (The Color of the Cave, The Color of Ghadir) is a collection of poems by Ma'ruf 'Abd al-Majid, an Egyptian convert poet.[1] This book contains 21 qasidas in Arabic, in which the virtues of the Ahl al-Bayt (a) have been expressed.[2] Some of the qasidas in this book are composed in the form of classical poetry and others in the form of modern poetry.[3] It has been said that the poet has been inspired by the Qur'an in composing his praise poems in this book.[4] The poems of this book have been described as fluent, explicit, and far from ambiguity and complexity, and possessing eloquence and firmness of style.[5]
The name of this book places the word Ghadir alongside the Cave (the place where Prophet Muhammad (s) was appointed to prophethood). It is said that this naming is rooted in the poet's belief in the close relationship between Prophethood and Imamate.[6]
