ʿAbd Allāh b. Bukayr al-Shaybānī (Arabic: عَبد الله بن بُكَير الشَّيباني) is one of the chiefs of A'yan Family. He is known for his knowledge and reliability, and he is one of People of Consensus. Although he is a member of Fatahiyya sect, no one has doubted his reliability in the narration of hadith.
Reliability
Al-'Allama al-Hilli says, "I trust his (Abd Allah b. Bukayr's) narrations, although he follows a wrong sect (fasid al-madhhab)." Al-Shaykh al-Tusi writes: "Shi'a acts upon hadiths narrated by Fatahis, such as Abd Allah b. Bukayr..."
However, it is noteworthy that some faqihs such as al-Shahid al-Thani and al-Muhaqqiq al-Hilli did not accept the hadiths he has narrated because of his faith.
Abd Allah b. Bukayr b. A'yan has narrated many hadiths. Al-Shaykh al-Tusi and al-Najashi has mentioned a book for him and Ibn al-Nadim writes in his al-Fihrist that he had a book in usul.
Ibn 'Uqda has written Musnad Abd Allah b. Bukayr (Musnad Hadiths narrated by Ibn Bukayr). Al-Shaykh al-Mufid regarded him as one of the great faqihs who know the divine halal and haram and their fatwas are acted upon, and there is nothing for defamation and dispraising them.
