The list of works by Badr al-Din al-Houthi comprises the writings of the Zaydi Shia scholar from Yemen. His total number of works is estimated to be close to 100.[1]A portion of his writings is dedicated to Wahhabism and responses to its criticisms, compiled under the title Al-Silsila al-Dhahabiya fi al-Radd ‘ala al-Wahhabiyya (The Golden Series in Refutation of Wahhabism). - Al-ʾIjāda fī dafʿ al-ʾisrāf
- Al-Taysīr fī al-Tafsīr: This book is considered his most important and extensive work, compiled in seven volumes. It employs the method of interpreting the Qur'an through the Qur'an itself, as well as a narrative approach relying on the traditions of the Prophet (s) and Imam ʿAli (a) The book was later abridged by his son, Muḥammad Badr al-Dīn, and published under the same title in a condensed form.
- Al-Majmūʿa al-wāfiya fī al-fiʾat al-bāghiya: This book examines the hadith regarding the killing of ʿAmmar b. Yasir by a rebellious (transgressing) group. The author gathers its chains of transmission from Sunni hadith sources.[4]
- Al-Zaydiyya fī al-Yaman: This book discusses the concept of Imamate and the commonalities between Zaydism and Twelver Shia.
- Al-Ghārat al-sarīʿa fī al-radd ʿalā al-ṭalīʿa: This work was written in response to al-Ṭalīʿa fī al-radd ʿalā al-Shīʿa by Muqbil al-Wādiʿī, a Salafi leader in Yemen who had authored a polemic against Shiism.[5]
- Al-Zuhrī ʾAḥādīthuhu wa Sīratuhu: This book consists of two sections and a conclusion. The first section analyzes the narrations transmitted by al-Zuhrī and the accusations directed at him. The second section explores his relationship and loyalty toward the Umayyad dynasty.[6]
- Irshād al-sāʾil ilā ahamm al-masāʾil: Written in a question-and-answer format, this book addresses doubts and criticisms raised by Wahhabism.[7]
