Al-Nākithūn, (Arabic:الناکِثون) means "traitors". It is the title of a group led by Talha and Zubayr, gathered around Aisha who revolted against Imam Ali (a), despite their vow of allegiance to him. They conquered Kufa and Basra with a great army and finally were defeated in the battle of Jamal. Talha and Zubayr were killed and the army scattered. A group of them were taken captives who were later forgiven by Imam 'Ali (a).
