Prayer of Imam Ali (a) is a recommended prayer attributed to Imam 'Ali (a).[1] Citing Imam al-Sadiq (a), Sayyid b. Tawus reports that this prayer consists of four rak'as, performed as two independent sets of two. The narration asserts that one who performs this prayer emerges as free of sin as a newborn, and their supplications are granted.[2] Liturgically, each rak'a involves reciting Sura al-Fatiha once, followed by fifty recitations of Sura al-Ikhlas.[3]

Writing in Mafatih al-jinan, Shaykh 'Abbas Qummi notes that this prayer is prescribed for observance on either the eve or the day of Friday. It is further stated that reciting the invocation "O Allah, bless the Arabian Prophet (s) and his progeny" (Allahumma salli 'ala l-nabi l-'arabi wa alih) subsequent to the prayer, garners forgiveness for sins both past and future. The reported spiritual reward is equivalent to twelve complete recitations of the Qur'an, alongside divine relief from hunger and thirst on the Day of Judgment.[4]

Post-prayer, it is recommended to recite a supplication known as the Tasbih of Imam 'Ali (a):

In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.
Glory be to Him whose signs do not perish. Glory be to Him whose treasures never diminish. Glory be to Him whose glory knows no end.
Glory be to Him with whom what He possesses is never exhausted. Glory be to He whose duration is without termination.
Glory be to Him who shares His command with no one.
Glory be to Him besides Whom there is no god.
(And after that, you pray and say:)
O He who has pardoned sins and has not punished for them, have mercy on Your servant.
O Allah! O Allah! My soul! My soul! (Save my soul!) I am Your servant, O my Master! I am Your servant standing before Your hands,
O my Lord! My God, by Your Essence! O my Hope! O my All-Merciful! O my Rescuer!
Your servant, Your servant, who has no stratagem; O the Ultimate Limit of my desire! O He who makes the blood flow in my veins! Your servant, O my Master! O my Owner! O He! O He!
O my Lord! Your servant, Your servant, I have no stratagem, and I have no independence regarding my own soul, nor am I capable of causing it harm or benefit, nor can I find anyone to propitiate.
The means of deception/excuses have been cut off from me, and every assumed support has vanished from me. Time (fate) has singled me out to You,
so I have stood before You in this station. O my God, by Your knowledge, all of this has happened;
so how will You deal with me? I wish I knew how You would respond to my supplication! Will You say 'Yes' or will You say 'No'?
If You say 'No', then woe is me! Woe is me! Woe is me! O my misery! O my misery! O my misery! O my humiliation! O my humiliation! O my humiliation!
To whom and from whom, or with whom, or how, or what, or to what thing shall I take refuge?
In whom shall I hope? And who will be generous to me with his grace when You reject me, O Encompasser of Forgiveness?
But if You say 'Yes'—as is the thought of You and the hope in You—then blessed am I! I am the happy one! I am the fortunate one! Blessed am I, and I am the one receiving mercy! O Most Merciful!
O Most Kind! O Most Affectionate! O Most Tender! O Sovereign! O Just! I have no deed whereby I may attain the success of my need.
I ask You by Your Name, which You have placed in the hidden part of Your Unseen, and which has settled with You, so it does not exit from You to anything other than You.
I ask You by it, and by You, and by You, and by it—for it is the most majestic and noble of Your Names. I have nothing other than this,
and no one is more beneficial to me than You. O Existence! O Giver of Existence! O He who made Himself known to me! O He who commanded me to obey Him! O He who forbade me from disobeying Him!
O He who is called upon! O He who is asked! O He who is sought after! I rejected Your advice, which You advised me,
and I did not obey You. And had I obeyed You in what You commanded me, You would have sufficed me in that for which I stood before You.
Yet, despite my disobedience to You, I am hopeful; so do not stand between me and what I have hoped for, O Most Merciful to me.
Grant me refuge from what is before me, from behind me, from above me, from beneath me, and from all directions surrounding me.
O Allah, by Muhammad, my Master, and by Ali, my Guardian (Wali), and by the Rightly Guided Imams—peace be upon them—my Leaders:
Place upon us Your blessings, Your kindness, and Your mercy. Expand for us from Your sustenance,
pay off our debts, and fulfill all our needs. O Allah! O Allah! O Allah! Verily, You have power over all things."[5] وَ اقْضِ عَنَّا الدَّینَ وَ جَمِیعَ حَوَائِجِنَا یا اللَّهُ یا اللَّهُ یا اللَّهُ إِنَّک عَلی کلِّ شَیءٍ قَدِیرٌ
