Al-Hasanayn (a)

Al-Hasanayn (Arabic: الحسنین) means "Two Hasans" referring to Imam al-Hasan al-Mujtaba (a) and Imam al-Husayn (a).
In some hadiths, Imam al-Hasan al-Mujtaba (a) and Imam al-Husayn (a) are referred to as "Hasanayn (a)". In the al-Shiqshiqiyya Sermon, the phrase "until Hasanayn were squashed under the feet" (حتی لقد وطئ الحسنان)[1] has sometimes been explained as Imam al-Hasan al-Mujtaba (a) and Imam al-Husayn (a) and sometimes as two toes.[2]
Regarding Arabic grammar, this word is pronounced "Hasanayn" when it is in the position of object and pronounced "Hasanan" if it is in the position of subject.
