Salim and his master, Amir b. Muslim al-Abdi, as well as Yazid b. Thubayt al-'Abdi joined Imam al-Husayn (a) in Abtah near Mecca. Salim was martyred in Karbala and his name is mentioned in Ziyara al-shuhada.
