| His Supplication in Asking for Covering and Protection
|
(41) وَ كَانَ مِنْ دُعَائِهِ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ فِي طَلَبِ السِّتْرِ وَ الْوِقَايَةِ
|
| In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.
|
بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحيمِ
|
| 1- O God, bless Muhammad and his Household,
|
1. اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ ،
|
| spread for me the bed of Thy honour,
|
وَ أَفْرِشْنِي مِهَادَ كَرَامَتِكَ ،
|
| bring me to the wateringholes of Thy mercy,
|
وَ أَوْرِدْنِي مَشَارِعَ رَحْمَتِكَ ،
|
| set me down in the midst of Thy Garden,
|
وَ أَحْلِلْنِي بُحْبُوحَةَ جَنَّتِكَ ،
|
| stamp me not with rejection by Thee,
|
وَ لَا تَسُمْنِي بِالرَّدِّ عَنْكَ ،
|
| deprive me not through disappointment by Thee,
|
وَ لَا تَحْرِمْنِي بِالْخَيْبَةِ مِنْكَ .
|
| 2- settle not accounts with me for what I have committed,
|
2. وَ لَا تُقَاصَّنِي بِمَا اجْتَرَحْتُ
|
| make no reckoning with me for what I have earned,
|
وَ لَا تُنَاقِشْنِي بِمَا اكْتَسَبْتُ ،
|
| display not what I have hidden,
|
وَ لَا تُبْرِزْ مَكْتُومِي ،
|
| expose not what I have covered over,
|
وَ لَا تَكْشِفْ مَسْتُورِي ،
|
| weigh not my works on the scales of fairness,
|
وَ لَا تَحْمِلْ عَلَى مِيزَانِ الْإِنْصَافِ عَمَلِي ،
|
| and make not my tidings known to the eyes of the crowd!
|
وَ لَا تُعْلِنْ عَلَى عُيُونِ الْمَلَإِ خَبَرِي
|
| 3- Conceal from them everything whose unfolding would shame me
|
3. أَخْفِ عَنْهُمْ مَا يَكونُ نَشْرُهُ عَلَيَّ عَاراً ،
|
| and roll up before them all which would join me to disgrace with Thee!
|
وَ اطْوِ عَنْهُمْ مَا يُلْحِقُنِي عِنْدَكَ شَنَاراً
|
| 4- Ennoble my degree through Thy good pleasure,
|
4. شَرِّفْ دَرَجَتِي بِرِضْوَانِكَ ،
|
| perfect my honour through Thy forgiveness,
|
وَ أَكْمِلْ كَرَامَتِي بِغُفْرَانِكَ ،
|
| rank me among the companions of the right hand,
|
وَ انْظِمْنِي فِي أَصْحَابِ الْيَمِينِ ،
|
| direct me to the roads of the secure,
|
وَ وَجِّهْنِي فِي مَسَالِكِ الْآمِنِينَ ،
|
| place me in the throng of the triumphant,
|
وَ اجْعَلْنِي فِي فَوْجِ الْفَائِزِينَ ،
|
| and through me let the sessions of the righteous thrive![1]
|
وَ اعْمُرْ بِي مَجَالِسَ الصَّالِحِينَ ،
|
| Amen, Lord of the worlds![2]
|
آمِينَ رَبَّ الْعَالَمِينَ .
