| 5) His Supplication for himself and the People under his Guardianship
|
(5) وَ كَانَ مِنْ دُعَائِهِ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ لِنَفْسِهِ و لِأَهْلِ وَلَايَتِهِ
|
| In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.
|
بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحيمِ
|
| 1- O He the wonders of whose mightiness will never end!
|
1. يَا مَنْ لَا تَنْقَضِي عَجَائِبُ عَظَمَتِهِ ،
|
| Bless Muhammad and his Household
|
صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ ،
|
| and prevent us from deviation concerning Thy mightiness!
|
وَ احْجُبْنَا عَنِ الْإِلْحَادِ فِي عَظَمَتِكَ
|
| 2- O He the term of whose kingdom will never cease!
|
2. وَ يَا مَنْ لَا تَنْتَهِي مُدَّةُ مُلْكِهِ ،
|
| Bless Muhammad and his Household
|
صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ ،
|
| and release our necks from Thy vengeance!
|
وَ أَعْتِقْ رِقَابَنَا مِنْ نَقِمَتِكَ .
|
| 3- O He the treasuries of whose mercy will never be exhausted!
|
3. وَ يَا مَنْ لَا تَفْنَى خَزَائِنُ رَحْمَتِهِ ،
|
| Bless Muhammad and his Household
|
صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ
|
| and appoint for us a portion of Thy mercy!
|
وَ اجْعَلْ لَنَا نَصِيباً فِي رَحْمَتِكَ .
|
| 4- O He whom eyes fall short of seeing!
|
4. وَ يَا مَنْ تَنْقَطِعُ دُونَ رُؤْيَتِهِ الْأَبْصَارُ
|
| Bless Muhammad and his Household
|
صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ
|
| and bring us close to Thy nearness!
|
وَ أَدْنِنَا إِلَى قُرْبِكَ
|
| 5- O He before whose greatness all great things are small!
|
5. وَ يَا مَنْ تَصْغُرُ عِنْدَ خَطَرِهِ الْأَخْطَارُ ،
|
| Bless Muhammad and his Household and give us honour with Thee!
|
صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ ، وَ كَرِّمْنَا عَلَيْكَ .
|
| 6- O He to whom all hidden tidings are manifest!
|
6. وَ يَا مَنْ تَظْهَرُ عِنْدَهُ بَوَاطِنُ الْأَخْبَارِ ،
|
| Bless Muhammad and his Household and expose us not before Thee!
|
صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ ، وَ لَا تَفْضَحْنَا لَدَيْكَ .
|
| 7- O God, remove our need for the gifts of the givers through Thy gift,
|
7. اللَّهُمَّ أَغْنِنَا عَنْ هِبَةِ الْوَهَّابِينَ بِهِبَتِكَ ،
|
| spare us the loneliness of those who break off
|
وَ اكْفِنَا وَحْشَةَ الْقَاطِعِينَ بِصِلَتِكَ
|
| through Thy joining, that we may beseech no one along with Thy free giving,
|
حَتَّى لَا نَرْغَبَ إِلَى أَحَدٍ مَعَ بَذْلِكَ ،
|
| that we may feel lonely at no one's absence along with Thy bounty!
|
وَ لَا نَسْتَوْحِشَ مِنْ أَحَدٍ مَعَ فَضْلِكَ .
|
| 8- O God, bless Muhammad and his Household,
|
8. اللَّهُمَّ فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ ،
|
| scheme for us, not against us,
|
وَ كِدْ لَنَا وَ لَا تَكِدْ عَلَيْنَا ،
|
| devise to our benefit, not to our loss,
|
وَ امْكُرْ لَنَا وَ لَا تَمْكُرْ بِنَا ،
|
| give the turn to prevail to us, not to others!
|
وَ أَدِلْ لَنَا وَ لَا تُدِلْ مِنَّا .
|
| 9- O God, bless Muhammad and his Household,
|
9. اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ ،
|
| protect us from Thyself, safeguard us through Thyself,
|
وَ قِنَا مِنْكَ ، وَ احْفَظْنَا بِكَ ،
|
| guide us to Thyself, and take us not far from Thyself!
|
وَ اهْدِنَا إِلَيْكَ ، وَ لَا تُبَاعِدْنَا عَنْكَ
|
| he whom Thou protectest stays safe, he whom Thou guidest knows,
|
إِنَّ مَنْ تَقِهِ يَسْلَمْ وَ مَنْ تَهْدِهِ يَعْلَمْ ،
|
| and he whom Thou bringest near Thyself takes the spoils.
|
وَ مَنْ تُقَرِّبْهُ إِلَيْكَ يَغْنَمْ .
|
| 10- O God, bless Muhammad and his Household
|
10. اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ ،
|
| and spare us the cutting edge of time's turning changes,
|
وَ اكْفِنَا حَدَّ نَوَائِبِ الزَّمَانِ ،
|
| the evil of Satan's snares, and the bitterness of the sovereign's aggression!
|
وَ شَرَّ مَصَايِدِ الشَّيْطَانِ ، وَ مَرَارَةَ صَوْلَةِ السُّلْطَانِ .
|
| 11- O God, the spared are spared only through the bounty of Thy strength,
|
11. اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّمَا يَكْتَفِي الْمُكْتَفُونَ بِفَضْلِ قُوَّتِكَ ،
|
| so bless Muhammad and his Household
|
فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ ،
|
| and spare us!
|
وَ اكْفِنَا ،
|
| The givers give only through the bounty of Thy wealth,
|
وَ إِنَّمَا يُعْطِي الْمُعْطُونَ مِنْ فَضْلِ جِدَتِكَ ،
|
| so bless Muhammad and his Household
|
فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ ،
|
| and give to us!
|
وَ أَعْطِنَا ،
|
| The guided are guided only by the light of Thy face,
|
وَ إِنَّمَا يَهْتَدِي الْمُهْتَدُونَ بِنُورِ وَجْهِكَ ،
|
| so bless Muhammad and his Household and guide us!
|
فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ ، وَ اهْدِنَا .
|
| 12- O God, he whom Thou befriendest will not be injured by the abandonment of the abandoners,
|
12. اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّک مَنْ وَالَیتَ لَمْ یضْرُرْهُ خِذْلَانُ الْخَاذِلِینَ،
|
| he to whom Thou givest will not be diminished by the withholding of the withholders,
|
وَ مَنْ أَعْطَيْتَ لَمْ يَنْقُصْهُ مَنْعُ الْمَانِعِينَ ،
|
| he whom Thou guidest will not be misled by the misguidance of the misguiders.
|
وَ مَنْ هَدَيْتَ لَمْ يُغْوِهِ إِضْلَالُ الْمُضِلِّينَ
|
| 13- So bless Muhammad and his Household,
|
13. فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ ،
|
| defend us from Thy servants through Thy might,
|
وَ امْنَعْنَا بِعِزِّكَ مِنْ عِبَادِكَ ،
|
| free us from need for other than Thee through Thy support,
|
وَ أَغْنِنَا عَنْ غَيْرِكَ بِإِرْفَادِكَ ،
|
| and make us travel the path of the Truth through Thy right guidance!
|
وَ اسْلُكْ بِنَا سَبِيلَ الْحَقِّ بِإِرْشَادِكَ .
|
| 14- O God, bless Muhammad and his Household
|
14. اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ ،
|
| and put the soundness of our hearts into the remembrance of Thy mightiness,
|
وَ اجْعَلْ سَلَامَةَ قُلُوبِنَا فِي ذِكْرِ عَظَمَتِكَ ،
|
| the idleness of our bodies into giving thanks for Thy favour,
|
وَ فَرَاغَ أَبْدَانِنَا فِي شُكْرِ نِعْمَتِكَ ،
|
| and the flow of our tongues into the description of Thy kindness!
|
وَ انْطِلَاقَ أَلْسِنَتِنَا فِي وَصْفِ مِنَّتِكَ .
|
| 15- O God, bless Muhammad and his Household
|
15. اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ ،
|
| and make us one of Thy summoners who summon to Thee,
|
وَ اجْعَلْنَا مِنْ دُعَاتِكَ الدَّاعِينَ إِلَيْكَ ،
|
| Thy guiders who direct to Thee,
|
وَ هُدَاتِكَ الدَّالِّينَ عَلَيْكَ ،
|
| and Thy special friends whom Thou hast singled out!
|
وَ مِنْ خَاصَّتِكَ الْخَاصِّينَ لَدَيْكَ ،
|
| O Most Merciful of the merciful![1]
|
يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ
|
