| 30) His Supplication for Help in Repaying Debts
|
(30) وَ كَانَ مِنْ دُعَائِهِ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ فِي الْمَعُونَةِ عَلَى قَضَاءِ الدَّيْنِ
|
| In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.
|
بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحيمِ
|
| 1- O God, bless Muhammad and his Household
|
1. اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ ،
|
| and release me from a debt which makes me lose face,
|
وَ هَبْ لِيَ الْعَافِيَةَ مِنْ دَيْنٍ تُخْلِقُ بِهِ وَجْهِي ،
|
| confuses my mind,
|
وَ يَحَارُ فِيهِ ذِهْنِي ،
|
| disrupts my thinking,
|
وَ يَتَشَعَّبُ لَهُ فِكْرِي ،
|
| and prolongs my occupation with attending to it!
|
وَ يَطُولُ بِمُمَارَسَتِهِ شُغْلِي ،
|
| 2- I seek refuge in Thee, my Lord,
|
2. وَ أَعُوذُ بِكَ يَا رَبِّ
|
| from worry and thought about debt,
|
مِنْ هَمِّ الدَّيْنِ وَ فِكْرِهِ ،
|
| from the distraction and sleeplessness of debt;
|
وَ شُغْلِ الدَّيْنِ وَ سَهَرِهِ ،
|
| so bless Muhammad and his Household and give me refuge from it!
|
فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ ، وَ أَعِذْنِي مِنْهُ ،
|
| I seek sanctuary in Thee, my Lord, from
|
وَ أَسْتَجِيرُ بِكَ ، يَا رَبِّ ،
|
| debt's abasement in life
|
مِنْ ذِلَّتِهِ فِي الْحَيَاةِ ،
|
| and its ill effects after death,
|
وَ مِنْ تَبِعَتِهِ بَعْدَ الْوَفَاةِ ،
|
| so bless Muhammad and his Household
|
فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ ،
|
| and give me sanctuary from it through a bountiful plenty or a continually arriving sufficiency!
|
وَ أَجِرْني مِنْهُ بِوُسْعٍ فَاضِلٍ أَوْ كَفَافٍ وَاصِلٍ .
|
| 3- O God, bless Muhammad and his Household
|
3. اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ ،
|
| prevent me from extravagance and excess,
|
وَ احْجُبْنِي عَنِ السَّرَفِ وَ الِازْدِيَادِ ،
|
| put me on the course of generous spending and moderation,
|
وَ قَوِّمْنِي بِالْبَذْلِ وَ الِاقْتِصَادِ ،
|
| teach me excellent distribution,
|
وَ عَلِّمْنِي حُسْنَ التَّقْدِيرِ ،
|
| hold me back through Thy gentleness from squandering,
|
وَ اقْبِضْنِي بِلُطْفِكَ عَنِ التَّبْذِيرِ ،
|
| allow me to attain my provisions through lawful means,
|
وَ أَجْرِ مِنْ أَسْبَابِ الْحَلَالِ أَرْزَاقِي ،
|
| direct my spending toward the gateways of devotion,
|
وَ وَجِّهْ فِي أَبْوَابِ الْبِرِّ إِنْفَاقِي ،
|
| and take away from me any possession
|
وَ ازْوِ عَنِّي مِنَ الْمَالِ
|
| which will bring forth pride in me,
|
مَا يُحْدِثُ لِي مَخِيلَةً أَوْ تَأَدِّياً إِلَى بَغْيٍ
|
| lead to insolence, or drag me in its heels to rebellion!
|
أَوْ مَا أَتَعَقَّبُ مِنْهُ طُغْيَاناً .
|
| 4- O God, make me love the companionship of the poor
|
4. اللَّهُمَّ حَبِّبْ إِلَيَّ صُحْبَةَ الْفُقَرَاءِ ،
|
| and help me be their companion with excellent patience!
|
وَ أَعِنِّي عَلَى صُحْبَتِهِمْ بِحُسْنِ الصَّبْرِ
|
| 5- Whenever Thou takest away from me the goods of this perishing world,
|
5. وَ مَا زَوَيْتَ عَنِّي مِنْ مَتَاعِ الدُّنْيَا الْفَانِيَةِ
|
| store them for me in Thy abiding treasuries!
|
فَاذْخَرْهُ لِي فِي خَزَائِنِكَ الْبَاقِيَةِ
|
| 6- Make this world's broken pieces which Thou hast conferred upon me
|
6. وَ اجْعَلْ مَا خَوَّلْتَنِي مِنْ حُطَامِهَا ،
|
| and its goods which Thou hast quickly granted to me
|
وَ عَجَّلْتَ لِي مِنْ مَتَاعِهَا
|
| a way to reach Thy neighbourhood,
|
بُلْغَةً إِلَى جِوَارِكَ
|
| a link to Thy nearness, and a means to Thy Garden!
|
وَ وُصْلَةً إِلَى قُرْبِكَ وَ ذَرِيعَةً إِلَى جَنَّتِكَ ،
|
| Verily Thou art Possessor of bounty abounding,
|
إِنَّكَ ذُو الْفَضْلِ الْعَظِيمِ ،
|
| and Thou art the Munificent, the Generous.[1]
|
وَ أَنْتَ الْجَوَادُ الْكَرِيمُ .
